Jen found Tom and rushed over to him.

"Oh no," she said still looking in Christine's direction.

"What? What happened?" he asked.

"That guy you met earlier, that's Christine's ex." she hurried toward Christine.

"Wait!" Tom followed after her, "what are you going to do?"

Jen reached Christine slightly out of breath. Christine noticed and looked concerned.

"What's wrong, what happened?" Christine said.

"Hey girl, lets leave-"Jen was interrupted

"Christine," Jamal said.

Christine gasped. Jen looked over at Jamal.

"I think you should leave." Jen said.

He ignored her comment. His eyes were fixed on Christine.

Everything seemed to silence around him. She looked so beautiful.

"I haven't seen you in so long. You look...amazing."Jamal said.

By now Tom had caught up and was right behind Jen.

"Uh oh," he said loud enough for only Jen to hear.

Christine was still at a loss for words. She looked as though she was trying to say something. "I..its," she stammered. "Its been a long time," she finally got out.

He looked hopeful.

"Want to go somewhere private to just.. talk?" He asked. "I miss you."

Before Christine had a chance to answer Jen spoke up. This had gone on long enough.

"No, she doesn't want to go anywhere with you," Jen's voice was rising and she stepped forward.

Tom held her waist to keep her from going any further. She would have legitimately posted up if it were not for the designer heels she wore.

"You need to leave because you have lost the right to talk to my best friend anymore." She was violently pointing her finger and behaving like a mad black woman.

Christine spoke up "Calm down Jen, its fine."

Jen looked at her friend to help control herself. Her friend looked like she was holding back a lot of emotions. She just wanted to get rid of this guy so Christine could relax.

Jen was considering closing her mouth but then Jamal opened his in protest. Before he could even say anything she was talking again.

"She doesn't need to hear anything you have to say. Just leave." She said.

"You're not giving me a chance to explain myself-"Jamal was cut off.

"Hey what's going on?"Jidenna had picked out his friends from the crowd. It was easy to spot them because they were all bunched together. But everyone looked so tense. And who is this new guy, he thought.

He came and put his arm around Christine's waist. Jamal's eyes filled with horror.

"Uh oh," Tom whispered in Jen's ear again.

"Who is this guy, Christine?" Jamal almost shouted. He looked so hurt.

"Jamal," Christine said calmly, "this is Jidenna, Jidenna, this is Jamal...my ex."
