Day 12:
Anaheim was everything I pictured it to be. The ocean was beautiful, and after speaking on my newest cellphone with Kenmochi's assistant, I discovered he wouldn't be home until around 7pm. We had an entire afternoon to kill, so the ocean is exactly where we went.
In comparison, Len looked much better in a bathing suit than I did. He attracted far more attention than me, and I had to admit-- it did make me a bit jealous. He was beautiful, but he was my beautiful. No one else's.
"Wanna go catch some hermit crabs?!" Len shouts, overly excited by another day out.
"A whole ocean, and he wants to touch the insects of the sea." I let out a sigh and drop my beach bag onto our rented table and chairs.
"Do you think there's star fish here?" He lifts his hands up in the air, stretching. "Man, I never get to go the beach, this is great."
"After tonight, you don't have to worry about getting permission to do anything ever again." I reach my arm around my back and hang onto my other arm. "We're in the clear now, there's no way Kenmochi won't help. This is the start of freedom."
"It's all thanks to you," Len smiles, stopping in front of me. He places his hands on either side of my waist. "You're helping so many vocaloids. You're amazing, Nami."
The corner of my mouth twitches into a sad smile, "I'm just cleaning up the mess I made.."
"But you're not, are you? Because this is bigger than just me and Rin. It's bigger than you. Even if you never signed away our memory drives, your father still would've corrupted this industry with what he could get his hands on. You're changing that--"
"We're changing that." I correct him. His eyes soften. God, he was gorgeous.
"You're the bravest person I've ever met."
He stared at me, and it made my body heat up. I felt like I needed nine more layers of sunscreen, how did this one guy shine brighter than the sun?
"Let's go catch those hermit crabs."
"You're perfect, Nami."

At 6:30, we were waiting on the street, outside the gates, at Kenmochi's house. I use 'house' lightly, this place was huge.
At 6:30, while holding the hand of the guy I had fallen so deeply in love with, a car pulled up to the curb in front of us.
And then it stopped.
And I thought, for a brief moment, that it was Kenmochi.
I was wrong.
The first person out of the car was Misaki. The second person out of the car was Neru.
And then Daisuke came out.
And then my father.
"Nami," Len clutches my hand a bit tighter. There was so escaping from this one, our car was parked miles away. If we ran, Neru would catch up no doubt.
"Fuck." I whisper.
"You need to stop, Nami." Misaki gives me a disapproving look. "You're interfering with his entire career, you're ruining his life."
"Shut up, Misaki!" He flinches at my words, and admittedly they were coming out sharp. "You don't know anything about what my father has done to them! You turn a blind eye to everything!" My father pushes his glasses up on his nose and I shoot a glare his way. "He doesn't have legal possession of any of the vocaloids, but he's been wiping their memory drives! He's dismantled vocaloids-- DAISUKE has dismantled vocaloids!"
