Masons POV(2 month jump) high school college transition

Graduation seemed like it lasted an instant; now that I think about it so did the entirety of high school for that matter. Tori and I both received acceptance letters from Baylor university that summer and a month later we started our freshman year in college. The whole experience was surreal; I'd never thought I would be at this point in my life so quickly. I knew Tori felt the same way and that she she was excited as well as I to be here; yet , I had the feeling that she didn't quite feel totally the same about the matter. We would still make time to chill and hang out between our busy schedules and every time we would talk about the stuff we would see and the people we had met; we would laugh again which is something I don't see Tori do that often now a days. Nothing was apparently changed in her for the worse, but I could feel she wasn't herself at some points. Sometimes she would sit just staring out blankly into whatever her gaze was fixed apon, and as soon as she could see that I drew near she would snap back to normal as if she forgot her current state. Perhaps the stress of college was getting to her, but knowing her I was sure she would be alright. On the bright side she would often talk about a guy she met a couple weeks ago in her English comp class and that they are starting to talk more and are getting along well. In that regard I was happy that she had Intrest in something and that whatever was bothering her could be off her mind for a while.

Friday before spring break we went to the library to finalize some grades and check out books to study for exams when we get back; as we entered the library we made our way back to the table closet to the window where we always usually sat. When we approached; it had seem to be occupied, on the table were stacks of manga novels and on the right hand side was a satchel with the Japanese characters that read samayō tamashi. " there's no way........" I said to myself frantically. Tori came over to the table and found me awestruck glaring at a bookcase. She touched my shoulder, " Mason what's wrong"? I couldn't speak my breathing began to elevate inside me along with my heart moving at what it felt like a thousand beats per second. The girl standing in front of the bookcase looked at me our eyes met for a split second the suddenly she stormed out of the library brushing my shoulder as she flew by. My gaze continued to shift to her path as the doors closed ever so slowly as if to signify that time itself had stopped in that moment." Mason who was she?" Tori demanded. She asked again with a serious tone, "Mason!......... What's going on........ Who is that girl?....." I turned to Tori with tears almost coming from my eyes. " that's my ex"....................... The doors shut as I could see her walk outside through the window........ Someone I used to trust..............
