Masons POV

My eyes struggled to open fully; I kept fading back into sleep within the moment itself; my surroundings appeared hazy and bleak and in the background I could hear the faint echoing of thumping throughout the house. As I began to awaken progressively the thumping turned into knocking; specifically knocking coming from the front door down stairs. As I made my way down, I began to realize that I was about to casually answer the door at 4 o clock in the morning. While I grasped the door handle I could hear faint crying on the other side, reluctant to open the door at first I slowly looked through the peephole to see who it was. I saw Tori on the other side standing directly in front of the door; I swung it open and as she stood before me she stared into my eyes a tear halfway strung down her cheek. " Tori"..... I said with all the seriousness I could muster. " what's wrong?" She continued to stand in the door way not even making a sound. I put my arm around my shoulder and guided her up the stairs. As we came to my room her weight fell in my shoulder; I could smell alcohol on her breath and could tell that her fading away was a result of her being intoxicated fairly recently. I picked her up and placed her on my bed she had already had fallen into a deep sleep; good thing that she didn't notice the empty bottles on the floor, I quickly kicked them under the bed hoping to deal with them later. Despite the circumstances in which Tori was here I felt comforted knowing that whatever had happened she would be safe here. It was quiet, all that could be heard was the faint sound if the air conditioner blowing soft gusts of air throughout the house. I took a seat on my office chair in front of my desk; I put my hands over my face rubbing up and down almost as if I was trying to awake from a dream that was all to real. Tori laid so peaceful on the bed almost as if she was reassured the the nightmare was over; whatever I may have been. Above in the dark sky the moon was hovering above shining light through my window. I began to cry; both my hands grasped my face as tears rolled down that dropped onto my lap. A sound came from under the bed as the bottles I had kicked under slowly began to roll out. They stopped at my feet in which I could see my reflection; I then looked to Tori who had rolled over her face revealed tears streaming down both cheeks. I looked at the bottles and then again to Tori, and finally again to the window. My head dropped. "don't be like me," I said with almost a whisper, I began to cry louder and so did my voice." Please....... Don't be like me!" I kicked the bottles which slammed against the wall cracking on impact. My head now laid on the desk, I continued to say the same thing as I began to fall asleep. "please......... Don't ............ Be ........ Like ....... Me."
