"Take my hand
Take my whole life too
For I can't help falling in love with you"- Can't Help Falling in Love by Elvis Presley

It had been a month since Dan moved in with Phil, and in that time he never talked to his parents. Phil kept telling him that they weren't worth it, that Dan shouldn't even want to talk to people like them. But they were still his family.
Dan could tell that Phil was growing impatient. Dan refused to leave the house to go on dates with him. In fact, it had been about a week since he'd even seen sunlight. The weekly existential crisis hadn't come for such a long time, now it was thrown at him like a bag full of bricks. He was too scared to confirm to the world that the rumor spread around was true. He was terrified of seeing all of his old friends or, god forbid, Amy.
Phil sat down on the edge of his bed where Dan was lying down, eyes open and staring at a wall. "Dan, remember the first night you stayed at my house?" he whispered, lying down next to him.
Dan grunted.
"You said that you would tell me if there was something wrong... Even though I know you lied, I'm still going to hold you to that promise."
Sighing, Dan turned over to look at Phil in the eye. "I'm so fucking scared, Phil. I'm scared of messing this up and yet I'm also scared that it will turn out right. What if I ever run into my parents again or any of my old friends? What about Amy?"
"Hey, it's going to be fine." Phil smiled weakly, taking Dan's hand into his own and squeezing it. "We're going to be okay, you have to trust that it will work out and that you'll be happy. We almost have enough money now. Soon we'll be able to get out of here and buy a place of our own. Somewhere in London maybe."
Dan turned one corner of his mouth up and Phil kissed it, leaning his forehead against Dan's. "I don't deserve you." Dan murmured sleepily.
"Sure you do. I'm just as bad as you are." Phil laughed quietly. "We should get out of the house, it's been a while since you've left. It might make you feel a bit better."
Dan stayed quiet, avoiding eye contact.
"I'll protect you if we see someone you know."
Dan laughed, pressing his lips against Phil's again. "My hero... Okay, fine."
Phil beamed and helped Dan out of bed, snaking his arms around his waist and kissing him. Dan looped his fingers through his belt loops and pulled him closer. "Or we could stay here..." he mumbled against Phil's lips.
"It will be much less nerve racking to make out with you when I know my mum won't be able to walk in on us at any second." he replied, grinning.
Dan chuckled and pulled away, walking to Phil's closet and pulling out a pair of jeans. He pulled off his pyjama pants, feeling the heat of Phil's stare on his back and making him flush red. Once he was dressed, he slipped his hand into Phil's and let him lead Dan to the car.
"So where are we going?" Dan asked whilst buckling his seat belt.
"I was thinking that we could do the classic 'movie date night'. How does that sound?"
