"Sometimes you gotta bleed to know
That you're alive and have a soul
But it takes someone to come around
To show you how"-Tear In My Heart by twenty one pilots

The next week, Phil had a doctor's appointment to check on his head and make sure that everything was doing alright.
"Oh my god, what if something has gone horribly wrong? It will be all my fault!" Dan was pacing around their bedroom, repeatedly running his hands through his hair whilst Phil was getting dressed and rolling his eyes.
Phil walked over to Dan and placed his hands on his shoulders to keep him still. He ran his hands down Dan's arms and clutched his hands tightly. "Hey, calm down, okay? Nothing's going to be wrong, I'll be completely fine, I swear. And if I'm not--which is a one in a trillion chance--it won't be your fault, okay?" he soothed.
"But it definitely will be my fault! I was the one-"
Phil kissed Dan before he was able to finish his sentence. "We've been over this, Daniel and we agreed to move on, remember?"
Dan wrapped his arms around Phil's waist and pulled him closer, deepening the kiss. "I love you." he mumbled against Phil's lips.
"I love you too." Phil pulled away, pushing one hand up Dan's shirt and grinned up at him. "You really should get dressed, we're leaving in five minutes."
"Oh shit." Dan quickly took off his close and began frantically searching for clean clothing. Phil chuckled as he finished buttoning up his shirt.

When they had gotten to the hospital, Dan sat with Phil the entire time, clutching his hand tightly in his own. They would get the occasional curious stare and that made Dan want to run back home and stay there forever. But he had to do this. For Phil.
The doctor ran a few tests and checked Phil's memory, all seemed to be going well so far, but that didn't stop Dan from being extraordinarily nervous. His heart was racing and his hands were sweaty, but Phil seemed completely fine other than his bouncy knee.
"We'll go look over these if you two wouldn't mind sitting tight for a while." the doctor told them, offering a tiny smile before walking out of the hospital room.
They sat in silence for awhile, tightly holding each other's hands. "Dan, are you okay?" Phil asked, looking concerned. He pushed Dan's hair out of his face, running his free hand through it.
"I'm fine, the more important question is are you okay?"
Phil shrugged. "I'll live." he smiled and leaned down to give Dan a peck on the lips. Dan put his hand on the back of his neck and pulled him into a deeper kiss, tilting his head slightly.
Someone cleared their voice from the doorway and they jumped and quickly pulled apart. The doctor was standing there, looking uncomfortable. "I'm sorry... Was I interrupting something?"
"N-No sir!" Dan squeaked while Phil turned a light shade of pink.
"Okay... Well, we looked over your tests and I'm afraid that we have some bad news."
