I pulled my hair up into a messy ponytail and got ready to step outside of the house with Ryan. My step dad agreed to meet us at a local park where a bunch of other people, including cops, would be doing their daily routines. To say I was scared was an understatement. Ever since I woke up this morning at 5 am my hands could not stop shaking and there was a huge weight on my chest. Prancing all around Ryan's room wasn't helping either. I'm surprised his parents didn't come upstairs and tell him to shut up, and I'm glad they didn't because they would have been greeted by my face.

"Ready?" Ryan smiled pressing his lips to my cheek.

"Barely...I'm starting to think this wasn't such a bright idea" I chuckled nervously.

"Don't think about it too much Hailey. We will be surrounded by people and he can't do anything to us in public" Ryan comforted me.

I smiled and gave Ryan a kiss. I'm happier now than I've ever been and it's all thanks to Ryan. Ever since the other night in the bathroom I feel as though our relationship has grown stronger. We are so much closer now and my trust in him has increased tremendously. I took a deep breath and walked out of the front door. Ryan's parents were not home so that was not something that we had to worry about. Neither one of us owned a car so we decided to walk to the park. It would approximately 10 minutes to reach there. Ryan grabbed my hand as we started walking and a small smile spread across my lips. I never thought this would happen to me in a million years. I never thought I'd be loved, especially by Ryan. All my life I've been told I'm not good enough, I'm too fat, I'm not as pretty as the other girls by kids at school and even my parents. Ryan is the single best thing that could have happened to me.

Once we reached the park we made our way to the designated bench where we were supposed to sit and wait for my step dad. There were a lot of people here jogging, or with their kids. I even saw a couple cop cars cruising by and that made me feel safe. But then again who knew what my dad would do considering he is absolutely insane.

My body stiffened when I saw him. I could tell it was him. I could always tell it was him. My dad just cruising through the crowds casually as though everything was right in the world. I sat up straighter and squeezed Ryan's hand one last time before putting them in lap. My step dad made his way over to us with a small smirk on his face. It made me want to punch the shit out of him while Ryan dropped a bucket of acid on his face. That thought strangely made me calm down a bit. It's going to be okay. We are in public. It's all going to be okay.

"Hello Ryan and Hailey." My step dad greeted.

"Okay. Tell us what the hell you want. What do you want from us." Ryan growled through gritted teeth.

"I want my daughter back of course" My step dad grinned.
