Chapter 9

Ryan''s POV

I was absolutely furious. How could a horrid man like this be allowed to father someone so beautiful, inside and out.

"You will stay the hell away from us. Do you understand?" I growled at the infuriating man.

"How can you make me? You're a useless piece of shit who is incapable of accomplishing anything in his life. Do not drag my daughter into your trap as well." he replied back smirking.

"Do not talk to him that way. Ryan is twice the man you will ever be." Hailey yelled. Hearing her defend me like that made my heart jump. No one has ever stood up for me like that before.

"Hailey come on we're going to leave. We are in a public park there is nothing he can do." I calmly stated as I took Hailey's hand in mine and led her away from him.

"I came here for my daughter and I will get her back. We won't be in a public park forever Ryan." Hailey's dad threatened.

"Alright. We'll see about that." Hailey confidently smiled. I, on the other hand, wasn't so sure what we were going to be doing about this situation. This was such a shitty scenario. How are we supposed to get past this without either of us getting hurt.

Once Hailey and I made it back home we sat down on my bed and just stared at the wall for a solid 5 minutes. I have to help her. I need to help her. She is the only good thing that has happened to me in my entire life and there is no way some psycho, pathetic asshole is going to take her away from me. I will never let anything take her away from me.

"Ryan I think we should just run away. We need to find money and then we need to run away. I cannot live in the constant fear that my father is going to find us and do something absolutely horrible to us. Fuck high school and fuck everything else I just need to get away from here." Hailey whispered softly.

"Hailey it isn't that easy. There is a lot of stuff that might go wrong. They're going to put our names up on the newspaper and they're going to assume the worst and send people out to look for us. There is no way we can make a getaway without everyone we know finding out." I tried to explain to her without being too harsh.

"You're right...yeah. What do we do then? Go to the police and file a complaint?"

"I think that might be our best option. Do you want to go right now or do you want to go tomorrow morning?"

"Let's go tomorrow okay? I'm totally done for today and I'm sure there is nothing that can happen in one night. I just want to sleep." Hailey sighed.

"Alright. We'll go first thing in the morning tomorrow and we will sort this entire thing out." I stated as I kissed her temple. She smiled and got up to go take a shower. She bent down and gave me a kiss before walking into the bathroom and closing the door.
