Myles pov
I wake to the doctor shaking my shoulder. He's frowning at me. I sigh and I know I have to leave although I don't want to.
"You know," says the doctor tapping his pen on the clipboard. I nod and sit up trying not to wake Justice but she's already awake and clinging on to me.
"Um, excuse me, ma'am-"
"Excuse me, did you just call me 'ma'am'?"
"Uh, sorry. Miss would y-" the doctor is cut off by Justice raising her eyebrows at him.
"Really?"
"Uh, Mr., can you leave, please?" he asks looking scared. I nod.
"No. Myles? No."
"Justice, I promise I'll be back. Soon. OK?"
"No." she says holding onto my hand so I can't walk away. "Don't leave me, please, stay with me?" she's now crying. I look back at the doctor and realise I haven't seen him here before.
"Are you a new doctor?"
"Uh, yes."
"Your name please"
"Uh, excuse me?"
"Your name."
"Why does that matter?"
"He's one of them, Myles." says Justice. All I do is stare at him. He reaches for a syringe. "Myles?"
For some reason it only makes me laugh that he's reaching for a weapon. He frowns and looks as if he's examining me.
"Hello," I say looking behind him even though there isn't anyone there. He quickly turns and before he realises what's happening I manage to pin him to the wall and the syringe is on the floor. As he try's to get away I knee him in the back. He falls to the floor, groaning.
"Myles, the syringe," says justice. You can tell she's worried.
The 'doctor' looks up at me with a crook smile and jumps forward to try jab me with the needle but before he can, I grab the sides of his head and smash his head on my knee. He's out cold.
I hear justice sigh and rap her arms around me.
"I love you, Myles, so much," as she talks I turn in her arms to face her. I grin at her. She try's to smile but I know she's trying not to cry in front of me.
"I know, and I love you too, way more than you love me," As the last word leaves my mouth a single tear rolls down her face. I take her face in my hands and wipe the tear away and whisper, "I promise" before kissing her.
When the 'doctor' wakes we are far from the hospital, and me, Justice, Honey and Wasabi are with Kate in a secure bunker in Kate's place, I don't really know what to call it ; this building has so many floors for an assigned things.
"So you four will stay down here until we have caught Luke and his accomplices. So, I'll be down here every coupe of days to cheek up on you, of course. And-"
"I want to help," says Justice. I look at her and frown. She nods.
"The only way you can help, Luna, is to stay down here with your friends and don't go above ground until we've caught Luke, OK?" You can here the anger in Kate's voice as she talks to Justice.
"But-"
"No, Justice. This time you can't argue your way to help. I can't lose you again. Please, Justice," I beg. She frowns at me. "Fine." I smile and sling my arm around her shoulders. We continue to walk in silence until we reach a door with the numbers 626 on the front.
"This will be you compartment. It has four bedrooms, a bathroom, a kitchen, and a living room. You don't have to sleep I separate rooms, I know you to won't." That last bit was directed at me and Justice, of course. "And your things from your last apartment's will be delivered later this evening. And I'll make sure you know every guard that comes down here, just in case, Luke, somehow manages to get his people in here, OK? So I'll leave you four to settle in." Kate unlocks the door gives us a key then relocks it once we are inside.
"Who wants lunch?" Asks Honey, trying to make good of a bad situation. We all nod and Honey skips into the kitchen deciding what to make.
"I'm gonna watch T.V." Says Wasabi.
This place isn't that bad. It's quite big and spacy. Dark grey squishy carpet with a white and black patterned lino in the kitchen, bathroom and in front of the door. It has white walls with picture frames with random things in them. A big and very comfortable, light grey couch. In front of the couch is a coffee table, a glass top and wooden legs and edge. The T.V. is huge. In the kitchen is has a marble top on both benches and the island in the middle of the kitchen. It also has a double sink, a ton of cupboards, a walk in pantry, and it even has a glass door fridge. This is so, so, different from back home. I turn back to find Justice sitting on the floor trying to keep herself awake.
"You, baby girl, need to get some rest," I say crouching newt to her. Her eyes open. "Come on, baby," I say lifting her up. I walk down the hall way until I find a room with a double bed and lay her on top.
The room is white like the rest of the house, same carpet, bed the bed cover is white with patterns on it. at home this is considered fancy and rich people stuff, but here it's probably old considering everything here is white, clean, and nothing is out of place.
"Go to sleep," I say to Justice as I place my hand on her stomach. "Stay. Please," she says grabbing my hand and rolling over so I lay down with her. "Of course I will," I whisper in her ear as I pull her closer to me.
