Chapter 4: 2 Against 2- Who shall claim victory?

Kat's POV
I peacefully walked around Marigold Forest. Murkrow was close behind and enjoying the wilderness around him. Sure. I could've just went to Foxglove Town and battled any trainers there but I didn't want to risk losing lots of battles considering I just got Murkrow from the professor. What we really needed was hard core training.

I stopped close to the center of the forest, at least that's what my PokéDex's map read, and looked around. There were only some Pidgy and Wurmple in this forest so I was sure Murkrow was able to handle them.

"Alright Murkrow", I said turning to face him, "Ready for some intense training?". He just happily crowed and flew around more. 

As if on cue, a random object was thrown in my direction. Luckily, before it hit me Murkrow defected it with a strong Peck attack, making the object fall on the floor in front of us. I lifted up the object and looked it over, it was a bone. "That's weird, only Pokemon I know that use bones as weapons are Marowak and Cubone, Riolu and Lucario also but they don't carry actual bones in their hands- or paws. But there can't be any in this forest could there?" I questioned as I looked over at Murkrow.

Murkrow then started to crow at a bush aggressively, as if something dangerous was in it. "Murkrow," I sighed, "There's nothing in that bush, probably just a small bug Pokemon". I then kneeled down and looks through the bush. After a few minutes of searching something bolted from the bush and head butted my forehand, causing me to fall back. "God dammit!" I angrily said as I rubbed my forehead. I looked at what hit me and saw a Cubone, it looked to be pissed off at something. I got my Pokedex out and scanned it: CUBONE, THE GROUND TYPE POKÉMON, IT WEARS THE SKULL OF ITS DEAD MOTHER SO NO ONE KNOWS OF ITS ACTUAL APPEARANCE.

I placed my PokeDex back in my bag and chuckled, "Murkrow! You ready to battle for the first time?!". He crowed happily and landed in front of the Wild Cubone ready for my command. "Alright Murkrow use-!", the earth beneath me rumbled, just enough to get my attention away from the Cubone and in the direction of the cause of the rumble. I cursed under my breath, "Murkrow! Come on, let's go see what that noise is". I ran toward the noise as Murkrow followed, leaving the Cubone behind and out of mind. Looking back at Murkrow I gave him a confident stare, "Okay, whatever we find there, good or bad, rest assure we'll face it together". Murkrow nodded but then got wide eyed and pointed his wing in front of me. Confused, I looked straight a head and ran into someone causing me to fall right on top of them.

I looked up, fixing my hat, and my faced turned bright red. "A-Austin", I stuttered. I quickly got on my feet so he could get himself up, I noticed his Houndoor was injured and in bad shape. "What the hell happened to your Houndoor?!", I asked shocked. "Some people called Team Galaxy happened, they attacked me and tried to steal him", he said out of breath and a bit angrily. My eyes widened in surprised, why would these people want to steal Pokemon? More importantly... Who's Team Galaxy??

"Well, well", laughed a woman's voice, "I knew this runt wouldn't get far with one fucked up Pokemon". I placed my gaze to the back of me and saw a woman with pink hair and a man with green hair. Both dressed in weird costumes with a large G on their chest, I assumed they were the Team Galaxy Austin told me about.

I stomped my foot to the ground and glared, "Stand down Team Galaxy! Leave us alone or else!". Both of them looked at each other in surprise but bursted out laughing, "This is so cute! This girl is threatening us!". The green hair guy looked over at the woman with pink hair, "Let's teach these children not to mess with us, Kira!". "Let's Ben," she replied.

"Kira... Ben..." I muttered to myself.

"Shuppet, teach these brats a lesson!", Kira shouted as she released her Pokemon. "You too, Duskull!" Ben yelled. A Shuppet and Duskull appeared in front of us, my eyes widened, I knew I was fucked... Two against one is unfair! No way would my Murkrow survive this.. I looked back at Austin caressing his wounded Pokémon. I gasped, quickly, I looked in my bag and grabbed a Super Potion and placed it in front of him, "Use this to help Houndoor, then help me take down these losers". Austin had a shocked expression on his face but he just nodded in agreement.
"Okay Murkrow, these should be a piece of cake! Use Pursuit on Duskull!". Murkrow glowed a ghostly aura around his body before flying straight at the Pokemon to attack it. Kira's Shuppet was extremely fast unfortunately, her Pokemon landed a hit on Murkrow before he could attack Duskull. He crowed angerly and hit Shuppet with the attack, causing a lot of damage! "You stupid piece of shit!! Can't you do anything right!?", Kira angrily screamed at Shuppet. I smirked, "Murkeow, take it down with a Astonish!". He looked over at the tired Pokemon and began to become cloaked in a ghostly aura, then attacked, causing the Shuppet to faint. "Awesome hit Murkrow!!", I happily yelled.
I felt a warm hand on my shoulder and turned to see Austin, "I can handle the Duskull, Kat. You and Murkrow take a rest". I nodded and stepped back with Murkrow beside me.
Austin's POV
I told Kay to take a break, I can't let her do all the battling here. If she did, it'll show I'm weak and I really want to impress her with my strength along side Houndour.
I took a good look at the duskull. "Okay Houndour, this is our second chance! Use Ember and make it count!", I commanded with full conference. Houndour immediately blasted small amounts of fire at the Duskull and easily weakened it. "Now Houndour! Use ember once more!", and with that final attack. It fainted. I looked back at Kat smiling proudly. She stood with her Murkrow resting on her arm and giving my a big thumbs up with the other. She was such an amazing supporter towards me and anyone.
"You dumb bastards!", I looked back at the Team Galaxy Kira and Ben who showed to be very angry for losing. How dare they call Kat such things, I was about to say something but Kat had beat me to it.
"You're done Team Galaxy! You can't win any battle through pure strength or discipline. Pokémon are our friends and beloved partner! We as trainers win our battles through faith and love. If that isn't enough to satisfy you, than you guys should really reconsider any future battles. With trainers like us in the world, we'll beat anything you throw at us".
I looked at Kat in awe, she is the definition of a true Pokémon trainer with a heart of gold. I have a feeling she'll be doing great things very soon.
