>> 2 Days Later
"Vijuluuu... where are we going? Vijuluu, it's been three hours and you're still driving!" Amaira whined, dragging out his name like a child sulking. Her tone was filled with impatience, and Viraj couldn't help but chuckle at his whiny baby.
"You'll see very soon, my Highness. Just a little patience," he replied smoothly, his lips twitching into a smirk.
Amaira scoffed dramatically, folding her arms. "Patience? It's already 11:50 now. In ten minutes, it'll be my birthday, and I know you're taking me for some surprise. So, what's the big deal in keeping it such a secret, hmm?"
She pouted and patted her round belly. "Look at this, baby... your dada is being so mean to us. You come out soon, okay? Then we'll both be a team and punish your dada together." She kept blabbering, her complaints half-petulant, half-adorable.
Viraj kept glancing at her from time to time, his heart softening with every word she mumbled to their little bean. Seeing her complain so innocently, as if the baby inside could already hear and agree with her, filled him with warmth so deep it almost hurt.
It had only been two days since their marriage, but in truth, nothing had changed. For them, they had already belonged to each other long before this sacred bond was tied.
Amaira huffed, "Just wait, once we go home, I'll complain to Rithvik bhai. Then you'll definitely get beatings from him."
Viraj shook his head with a helpless smile, eyes twinkling as he finally brought the car to a halt.
Amaira blinked, instantly stopping her blabbering. She looked around, confusion spreading across her face as she leaned forward. "Wait... where are we?"
Before she could question further, Viraj turned to her. His large hand cupped her cheeks, squishing them gently until her lips puckered into a pout.
He leaned in and showered her with quick kisses, one after another, making her whine and push at his chest. Viraj only chuckled at her resistance, finally pressing a lingering kiss on her forehead.
"You're so adorable that I want to eat you up, baby," he murmured against her skin, his voice thick with love.
Amaira slapped his hands away with a huff, still pouting as she looked around curiously. "Hubbyyy... where are we?"
Viraj only smiled, the kind of smile that carried secrets, promises, and a surprise big enough to leave her speechless.
The surroundings were so dark, and Amaira was not able to see anything except the car headlights pointing at something, even then she couldn't make out clearly.
Meanwhile, Viraj got down, circled around, and opened her door, carefully helping his baby get down. Amaira kept one hand around her belly protectively and with the other caught Viraj's hand, intertwining their fingers as she huffed at how round and chubby she had become.
Viraj immediately circled his arm around her waist, grounding her, and she leaned into him for support without a thought.
He kissed her forehead softly and whispered, "You okay, baby?" She hummed, nodding.
His hand trailed down to caress her belly, his voice gentler, "And what about my little bean?"
Both chuckled when they felt a tiny kick. "They always respond to you, hubby," Amaira said with a sweet smile, and Viraj's heart melted at the sight.
Just then, his phone alarm went off. He quickly stopped it and turned to look at Amaira... she stood there glowing under the moonlight, her roundness only making her look softer, more ethereal. His heart thudded faster at the heavenly sight, forcing him to take a deep breath to steady himself.
