(A/N): Hey guuuuys. Here’s chapter 12! Love you guys so so so much xx

…

Finn, true to his word, did buy the ticket. Not only that, he changed the accommodation, the activities, everything, all for 3 people, whether I was going or not. It was so tempting that I had to give in. What was I supposed to do? Spend a whole month in England without Finn? I could barely go a day without at least talking to him on the phone, how was I going to stop contact altogether for a month? Finn, as usual, got his way. Secretly, I was beyond excited. I had never travelled much, apart from going to Paris for a week when I was about 4, not that I remembered much, and a few trips to Australia and Fiji with my parents. It was a little less than 5 days until we left, and I was packing all of my things, while Finn sat on my bed, unhelpful as ever.

“What do you think, these or these?” I asked, holding up 2 pairs of bikinis. The first were a strapless, lilac pair, frills adorning the tops of the material. The second were a plain black pair.

“You could just not bring any,” Finn smirked, leaning up to kiss me.

“Finn,” I groaned, “You’re being very unhelpful.”

“Bring both,” he replied promptly, looking slightly apologetic as he quickly rushed his hand through his slight fringe, his eyes in a constant Bambi-like state that made him all the more adorable.

“Okay, I’ll do the rest tomorrow,” I sighed, pushing the suitcase on the ground and crawling next to Finn. “I still can’t believe you managed to get me a whole month off work.”

“Your boss’s kid likes my videos,” he admitted sheepishly casting his eyes down for a quick moment.

“You used bribery?” I questioned, raising an eyebrow and smirking slightly. This definitely wasn’t the Finnegan Frayn Harries that I was used to. “Since when did you get so naughty?”

“I only did it because I want you to come on this trip,” he countered, eyes boring into mine.

“I know,” I smiled, planting a soft kiss on his lips as he wrapped his arms around my waist. “And I really appreciate it, Finny.”

“I’m glad,” he murmured. My mind wandered back to that exact date, 3 weeks ago, when Sam interrupted us having a little bit of ‘fun’. We hadn’t managed to have sex so far, either due to wrong timing or someone interrupting us. Trust me, if it was up to me, we would’ve done it a long time ago, but it just never felt right. We sat like that for a lengthy period of time, Finn’s arms wrapped around my waist, chin rested on the crown of my head, until I had fallen into a deep, dreamless sleep.

“Got your ticket?” Sam asked, still as protective as ever.

“Check.”

“Your passport?”

I waved the small, deep red booklet and smiled, “Check.”

“Your phone?”

“Check,” I said, tapping my phone, which lay in the pocket of Finn’s jersey, the one that I had decided to nick. It was a routine that I had to go through before I went away. Once, when I was going to Australia with a friend back in high school, I managed to forget my entire suitcase.

“Are you sure you want to go?” he double-checked. Worry flooded his big brown eyes.

“Absolutely,” I reassured him, wrapping my arms around him for a few moments before releasing. “Besides, I’m only gone for a month,” I added, weaving my hair into loose, lazy side plait, pushing my sunglasses onto the crown of my head.

“Yeah, but who’s going to make me eggs on toast every Saturday?” he teased; handing me my backpack, throwing one more grin in my direction, before we said our final goodbyes. He zoomed off, well, as best as he could in that awful red contraption of a car, leaving me by myself for a few moments while I waited for Finn and Jack to be dropped off by his parents. They were both inherently kind people, Rebecca and Andy, and I liked to think that I had already been accepted into the Harries household, but that probably wasn’t the case, sadly. Sitting at Heathrow reminded me of a time 3 months ago, when I had just moved here, unknowing and naïve to the world around me. I couldn’t believe how quick time had flown by, and how much I’d experienced since I had been living in New Zealand. I’d got a job, a real one, not one where I basically cleaned up after kids. I was an after school carer, and although I got paid, it wasn’t very much. Since living in London, I had paid bills, made a few close friends, and most important of all, been in a functional relationship with a man who made me feel happy again.

As soon as I had pocketed my phone, I felt a pair of strong arms wrap around me from the behind, “Hey baby,” Finn murmured in my ear, giving me the shock of my life.

“What did I say about giving me a fright?” I inquired, grinning all the while. I placed a sweet kiss on his lips, before greeting Jack and his parents. “Hey,” I smiled, wiggling my fingers at them in the most polite way possible. I wanted the Harries family to like me. I’d been in several relationships where the parents didn’t like me one iota, and it never ended well. What’s more was that I really liked Finn. He wasn’t just another one of those boys I dated because he was cute and interested in me. I didn’t want him to slip through my fingers, all because of the fact that I couldn’t get his parents to like me. So, I had tried extra hard to be nice to them. Whenever I could, I would make them a cup of tea, make dinner for the family. Small things like that.

“Is that my jumper?” Finn asked curiously, taking his time to appreciate the tight black leggings that I was wearing. Comfort over style, all the way, I thought triumphantly, mentally raising a fist into the air. I drew the line at Crocs, though.

“Maybe, maybe not,” I smirked, brushing down the royal blue fleece. “So are we ready to go?”
