Morning came quietly, sunlight spilling in through the curtains like golden pain. I blinked awake to find myself wrapped, warm, and safe. Namjoons arm was draped heavy around my waist, his chest rising steady.
Jungkook was curled close at my other side, his hair messy, lips parted in sleep, one of his hands tangled in mine.
Beside him, yoongi lay on his stomach, face buried in the pillow, the faintest snore escaping him every few breaths.
For a moment, I didn't move. I just lay there, listening, the rhythm of their breathing, the soft rustle of sheets, the peace of it all.
This was home.
But as my gaze drifted to the mark on my skin, the two tiny stars beneath jin and taehyungs names had become four stars, hobi and jimin, the thought hit me, two bonds in just a couple of days.
Two connections sealed back to back, my heart swelled with pride for them, for the courage it took to step into something so raw and vulnerable. But underneath the warmth, a small thread of worry tugged at me.
There were still so many bonds left, so many hearts to connect. Eight in total to connect all of us. Once all said and done, and though I knew it would happen, that pull between us, although I could no liber feel it. Would keep drawing us closer together. The pace of it all made my chest tighten.
How fast was to fast? Could we keep up with the rythem our souls seemed to demand?
"Mm, you're thinking too loud," Namjoon mumbled sleepily against my neck. His lips brushed my skin there. Lazy and warm.
I smiled, twisting just enough to meet his drowsy eyes. "Sorry,"
"Don't be," he whispered, kissing my temple, "but you dont need to worry. Bonds will happen when they are meant to. That's all."
It was like he knew what i was thinking. But before I could respond, jungkook stirred, blinking awake with the softest whine. He stretched, the movement brushing his arm against mine before tucking his face in my shoulder. "Too early," he muttered.
Yoongi groaned from the other side. "If you're talking already, it's too late to pretend we're still asleep."
Laughter bubbled up in my chest.
Eventually, we all peeled ourselves out of bed, paddling down to the kitchen on varying states of messy hair and half awake grumbles. The scene that greeted us was chaos in the most beautiful way.
Jin was already cooking, of course, with taehyung pearched on the counter next to him, sneaking bites when he thought jin wasn't looking.
Hobi and jimin wandered in not ling after, both glowing in that way that it made it impossible to miss what had changed between them. Their shoulders brushed constantly , their smiles softer, their laughter sweeter.
"Morning," Maddies little voice piped up as she barreled into the kitchen, still in her pyjamas, arms stretching until hobi stopped her up. She squealed in delight, her head thrown back in laughter as he spun her around.
Jungkook slid into a chair at the table, hair sticking up in every direction, while yoongi made a beeline for the coffee machine without a word.
Namjoon kissed my cheek before taking plates to set the table.
I leaned against the doorway for a moment, just watching them, this mismatched, chaotic, beautiful family we were building.
Two bonds in just a couple of days. So much still ahead, and yet, instead of fear, the sight before me filled me with quiet certainty.
we're finding our way.
One bond at a time.
Breakfast was loud, messy, and perfect. Jin tried to maintain order, but with taehyung sneaking bites, hobi making maddie giggle so much she nearly toppled of her chair. And jungkook trying to prove he could eat more than jimin. Order was impossible.
