Pinkiepie's POV
The market was full of bustling ponies. I giggled and waved to the majority of them as Crystal shoved her way through the crowd, and I bounced through it. Many ponies greeted me too and it made me even happier! Nothing like a good ol' mutual relationship!
We came to our first stand: Zecora's Talking Jelly Beans. Apparently if you ate different ones, your voice would change depending on the color!
"Oh these I just have to get," Crystal grinned as she handed the rhyming mare five bits. Zecora nodded in approval and gave her the bag.
"I can't wait to eat these!" I exclaimed as we moved on. Crystal agreed and was talking about all the different pranks you could pull with them until he came along.
He had horns almost like Crystal's and vaguely reminded me of a combination of Celestia and Discord. I made a good guess because I found out he was the son of the married pair after spotting a nearby poster.
"Sweet Celestia who is that?" Crystal chimed.
"According to that poster over there," I pointed. "That's Illusion, the son of Celestia and Discord."
"Oh. My. Gosh. I need to speak to him!" She ran up ahead and I followed close behind.
Apparently Crystal wasn't the only mare who noticed Illusion. A whole crowd had gathered around him, swooning over him as he tried to find a cheese. However Crystal was persistent and managed to shove her way to the front of the humongous group. That's when their eyes locked. He looked at her, and turned away from the cheese stand. They studied each other for several minutes; Crystal was redder than any apple I've seen grown on Sweet Apple Acres. Finally she was lost in the crowd, and a worried look came over Illusion.
Just then Celestia's grand chariot landed near the young stallion, and the sun alicorn walked out in her full glory. Everypony immediately bowed. I followed suit, but Crystal did not. Now that nopony was in her way, she could look at him easier.
"Illusion!" Celestia cried. "Oh goodness that's where you are. Discord and I have been worried. What are you doing here?"
"I, well, I wanted some cheese."
Celestia gave him a questioning look. "Cheese? Illusion, but that's pet food. It isn't for ponies!"
Crystal snickered and everypony looked at her. She immediately closed her mouth.
"And who are you?" Celestia asked, turning to her, clearly surprised. "You look almost like Illusion!"
"I'm Crystal Clarity, the daughter of Spike and Rarity," she said rather boldly. I turned to Illusion who was paying close attention.
"Ah yes. I've heard of you. You're quite pretty!"
"Thank you!""Yeah, you are," Illusion agreed. Crystal blushed and immediately received tons of scowls from the hundreds of love struck mares. I squealed. If Rarity heard about this ship she'd have a heart attack. These two ponies were perfect for each other. Eventually Celestia left with Illusion, and Crystal looked sad. I sprang over to her after everypony resumed walking through the market.
"Awe, cheer up! You'll see Illusion again. He's the daughter of Celestia. From what I can tell you'll probably see him every week!"
Crystal dropped her head. "Yeah, I guess so. Just wish I could see him everyday."
I was a little taken aback by this. But it made sense. From what I could tell, Crystal had feelings for Illusion.
"Well c'mon! Let's buy some more junk food and then see if we can learn more about Illusion. After all, I'm best friends with one of the princesses. Maybe we could have a little get together." I winked and Crystal immediately brightened.
We spent another hour and a half at the market, and in the end we ended up going home with 7 Chocolate Hay Bars, 4 Frozen Blackberry Fruits, 10 of my extremely yummy wummy scrumpatlicious cakes, and 5 of Applejack's apple fritters. It would have been hard to go home carrying all that stuff, but luckily I had my saddle bag. I mean, anything fits in there! One time I pulled out an elephant for Crystal's welcome party, and a pack of wolves for Scootaloo's birthday. That one didn't turn out well because they happened to be rabid.
Anyway, after we got back to Sugarcube Corner, we headed into my apartment that was upstairs. It was perfect living here! I got to eat the left over pastries that we didn't sell at the end of the day. How great is that?
We laid out our haul onto my bed and put the Frozen Blackberry Fruits into my freezer. Now the only thing we had to do was wait for night to come! That's when the real fun begins.
