Pinkie's POV

I woke up this morning, feeling as if I were forgetting something. While I bounced down the hallway and into the kitchen, I kept thinking, and then...AHA! Crystal was having her party later tonight and I needed to make her a cake. I flew down the stairs, almost smashing my face into the wall at the bottom, and turned a right into the kitchen. Mrs. Cake was stirring some up some batter for a batch of muffins.

"Hello, Mrs. Cake!!" I said. She greeted me back an I helped myself to some cupcakes for breakfast.

After that I wished her goodbye and sprinted out the door to my friend, Cheese's house. He moved to Ponyville after our partying contest. After that, we became the bestest of the bestest of the bestest of friends! I hang out with him on Sunday's a lot.

His house was only a block away from mine, and after knocking on the door four times, our secret knock, it swung open.

"Why hey there my bestest of the bestest of the bestest friend!" (Idek if that makes sense. Probably not.)

"Hiya Cheesesandwhich! I'm going to need some party supplies for Crystal's birthday! Can I come in?"

"Sure thing! Right this way." He led me to his secret stash of party items which were hidden underneath his house. Just like me! Hehe, yay! We walked for what seemed like miles until we came across a towering shelf that had sprinkles, frosting, confetti, balloons, you name it! Cheese was always prepared. I began examining each item throughly, before taking half of what was on the shelf.

"Thanks, Cheese! I gotta go! Bye!"

"Okay, bye!"

I sped out of there like a cheeta, all the way back to Sugarcube Corner. Once the materials were sprawled out on my dining table, I began pulling out party streamers, confetti and all sorts of other necessities. I arranged them the way they'd be set up at Crystal's party before actually putting them up. When I was satisfied with them, I nodded my head and packed everything together into my saddle bag.

The air in Canterlot was nice, and I headed straight for Celestia's castle. There were two guards standing at the doorway, but they immediately recognized me and let me inside. The castle was a madhouse however. Celestia was running around nervously yelling random instructions out to surprised unicorns that were using their magic to hang up a banner that said, "Happy Birthday Crystal!" It looked rather nice, but it seemed as thought it would rip if another pony tried to help hang it up. All their magic merged together, jostling the banner this way and that. One of them pulled as hard as they could and the banner fell down on top of him.

"Augh!" He cried stumbling in the white sheet.

"Let me do it! And only me!"

"No, me! I know how to!"

Tons of unhappy ponies began screaming at each other before Celestia lost her mind and flew up above all of them, taking it away with her powers. She stared at it glumly before folding it up.

"Now all of you, please, calm down. Maybe now isn't the time to hang up the banner. Don't worry. We have nine more hours until the party starts." Her eyes met mine. "Ah! Pinkie!"
She soared down and landed in front of me. I greeted her and we trotted into a nearby room. The doors closed and locked before she let out an exasperated sigh.

"Goodness these ponies are driving me mad! Have you brought the supplies?"

"Yep!" I pulled everything out and set them down gingerly. Celestia looked at all of it and smiled.

"Good! Can you start the cake? The kitchen is out of this room to the left, and down the hallway on your right! You'll find it! Thank you so much, Pinkie! I don't know what I'd do without you."

"Hehe! Thanks!"

When I got into the kitchen, the chefs had already set up everything I'd need. Celestia must have told them to. I thanked them and then set to work.

I began dumping the ingredients into a metal bowl and stirring it around. In total I only spent about an hour on the cake, but decorating was a whole other thing. It took me almost three more hours to get all the fondant laid perfectly over the cake which was then topped with several flowers. I slipped it into the fridge and went back out into the main area where ponies were setting up.

They must have managed to figure things out and work together because everything looked stunning. The large banner hung gracefully from the ceiling while several streamers dangled below. Balloons floated around freely, giving the room a happy look. There were also beautiful tables covered in bowls of food. I exhaled deeply. Only five more hours to go until the party.

I headed back home, glad to get the cake off my back. That's when I ran into none other than Crystal herself. She was going for an afternoon stroll.

"Oh, hey, Pinkie."

"Hiya, Crystal!"

"Did you just come from Canterlot?"

"Yes indeedly!"

"Oh gosh. Are they decorating for my party?"

"Yep, they are!!"

"Goodness." Crystal said. "Illusion texted me earlier saying it was chaotic in there."

"Wellllll...it was, but everything's okay now!"

"That's great to know, Pinkie. You're a grand help around here."

"Thanks, Crystal!"

"Well, I should be on my way. See you tonight!"
I waved goodbye to her before trotting back to Ponyville. Crystal was bound to like her party. Especially with the surprise we threw in.
