Divergent: The Big Five

Chapter 4

Elsa's P.O.V

I woke up, gulping a huge gulp of air and started to breathe heavily. I calmed my self down and found Carly over by the computer biting her nails with a confusing expression on her face I couldn't read. She stopped biting her nails and typed something onto the computer.

She then rushed over to me and ushered me to the door.

"Wait! What were my results!" I exclaim confused.

"A-Abnegation." She hesitated, pausing a second before continuing to push me towards the door. "And Erudite, and Dauntless..."

I felt my eyes widen as confusion slapped me in the face.

"What?!" I whisper-shouted and maneuvered myself out of her grasp and back into the room. "What does that even mean? Is there something wrong with me?"

"No... it's just very... rare." She pauses again and takes a deep breath. "They call it Divergent."

I just stare at her unable to move my arm or legs. Unable to speak. Unable to process what she said. I had read about Divergents from one of Anna's books. And now I was one of them.

~END OF FLASHBACK~

I shook my head bringing myself back to reality. I took a shaky breath and headed toward the stage. What was I to choose? Should I stay in Abnegation for my family? Or be free in Dauntless? I reached the stage and took the knife. I drew the knife across my hand and held it over the bowl holding the smooth stones; Abnegation.

I bit my lip and at the last second moved it over to the bowl holing the burning charcoal; Dauntless. I heard my blood sizzle and it made contact with the burning rocks.

"Dauntless." Hans stated as the Dauntless cheered and clapped. I bandaged my hand and had a seat next to the girl with wild, curly, red hair.

~Time Skip~

I sprinted to catch up with the Dauntless. We headed for the train tracks that were being held up by yellow metal columns/poles. As an Abnegation we don't get that much physical exercises into our daily lives so getting up to the train track was the hardest thing I've ever done.

I already had beads of sweat on my forehead when I got the the top.

"Here it comes!" Someone shouted and I turned around and saw a train coming. Everyone started to run as I continued to stare at the train. I quickly realized I had to run and once again had to sprint to catch up.

The train whizzed by me and the end of it was coming closer, I quickly grabbed a bar next to an opening into the train. I felt a hands wrap around my forearm and I was pulled into the train.
