The Rathore Palace had never been so alive. From the towering gates to the marble courtyards, every corner was draped with gold, red, and ivory fabric. The chandeliers had been polished to perfection, the royal crest engraved freshly on silk banners that fluttered in the desert wind.
It was official: the Hukum of Rajasthan, Abhimaan Singh Rathore, had accepted shagun for Ishika Malhotra.
Though no formal announcement had been made yet, the news had already begun to trickle into the outside world. Servants whispered with excitement, guards stood taller with pride, and the people of Rajasthan waited for the official declaration of their Hukum’s bride.
🌸 Ishika’s Dilemma
Ishika stood before her mirror in the palace chamber, dressed in a pale pink lehenga Anchal had chosen for her. It was light, simple, yet carried the touch of royalty. The dupatta framed her innocent face, but her heart was racing.
“Anchu…” she whispered as her cousin pinned the dupatta carefully. “Why do I feel like this is all happening so fast? Yesterday I was nothing but a burden to my family… and today, people call me Hukum’s bride.”
Anchal smiled faintly, but her eyes carried the weight of a thousand storms. “Because that is what you are now, Ishi Di. Their insults can never change your worth. hukum sa has given you the shield no one can break. And I…” her voice softened, “…I will not let anyone touch you again.”
Ishika hugged her, eyes moist. “You always protect me, Anchu. But what about you? Who protects you?”
For a moment, Anchal’s mask cracked. She closed her eyes, inhaling deeply. Who protects me? The question burned, but she forced a smile. “I don’t need anyone. I have you.”
🦁 The Brothers’ Bond
Elsewhere in the palace, Abhimaan was finalizing security arrangements. His voice thundered across the hall as he commanded his men.
“No rival, no journalist, no snake will dare to insult her in my palace,” he ordered.
Yuvraj stood by his side, grinning. “Bhai sa, you’ve never looked this… tense. Are you actually nervous?”
Abhimaan glared. “Chup, Yuvraj.”
Ekansh smirked faintly. “He isn’t nervous. He’s just making sure no one makes Ishika cry.”
Aditya added from the corner, his teasing sharp. “Or maybe… for the first time, the great Hukum sa is afraid of losing someone.”
Abhimaan’s jaw tightened, but his silence was enough to confirm it.
🎤 Media Storm
By afternoon, the gates of Rathore Palace swarmed with reporters. Cameras flashed, microphones stretched forward, and eager voices filled the air.
“Is it true, Hukum sa is marrying a girl from a middle-class background?”
“Who is Ishika Malhotra? What is her past?”
“Was this marriage arranged or forced?”
“Some say the Malhotras are greedy — is she being used as a pawn?”
The guards struggled to control the crowd, but their questions echoed through the palace walls.
Inside, Ishika flinched at the noise. Her heart pounded. “Anchu… they’re here. What if they humiliate me like Taya ji and Tayi ji always did?”
Before Anchal could answer, a commanding voice echoed through the room.
“No one dares humiliate you.”
It was Abhimaan. He strode in, draped in a royal achkan of black and gold, his aura untouchable. He looked at Ishika, his eyes softer than anyone had ever seen. “You are not alone anymore. You are my bride. Walk with your head high.”
