-Start of Chapter 146-
The library becomes a battlefield of its own.
Stacks of ancient tomes pile up on tables, scrolls unravel across the floor, ink stains fingertips. Hours turn into days, days blur into weeks. Every healer, scholar, mage, priest, witch, and oracle in the kingdom has been summoned.
And every answer is the same:
"Her memory is the price."
"The ritual saved you. The curse broke."
"The cost cannot be undone."
Nearly impossible.
Nearly irreversible.
Nearly.
So they keep trying.
Books slam. Pages tear. Tempers crack.
Sunghoon reads until his eyes burn.
Jay pores over spells with shaking hands.
Sunoo flips desperately through every text on soul-binding.
Riki tries translating older dialects he barely understands.
Heeseung stalks from table to table, jaw tight, refusing to give up.
Jake tries his best to talk to Y/N and tries to jog her memory
Jungwon spends days trying to look for a healer who can bring her memeories back
TXT helps too — quietly, steadily, always present.
Taehyun sorts through texts with frightening efficiency.
Soobin keeps the others fed and rested.
Beomgyu reads aloud from a stack taller than him, voice hoarse.
Kai fetches scrolls from the restricted vaults.
And Yeonjun...
Yeonjun sits at the corner of the table, staring at a crumbling manuscript.
His hands shake.
No one notices at first.
But then he speaks.
Softly.
Brokenly.
"...Wouldn't it be better if she forgets?"
The room freezes.
His eyes are glossy, guilt drowning the brown.
"Her past was... cruel. Our mother died. We weren't good brothers. She lived in fear, alone, shut inside this castle."
His voice cracks.
"Isn't it better she doesn't remember any of that?"
A heavy silence settles — painful, suffocating.
Then Beomgyu steps forward, hand resting firmly on Yeonjun's shoulder.
"Hyung" he says gently. "You know we can't think like that."
He squeezes.
"A person without their memories isn't living. It's just... an empty shell wearing a heartbeat."
Yeonjun lowers his head.
He knows.
He knows.
But that doesn't make it hurt less.
Jay quietly closes the book in front of him.
"So what do we do?" he whispers.
Heeseung clenches his fists.
"We keep trying."
His voice trembles with fury and devotion.
"I don't care if it's impossible. She deserves her life back."
The others nod, one by one.
Even Yeonjun.
Especially Yeonjun.
~~~~~~~
The day begins quietly.
