-Start of Chapter 147-

A quiet settles over the room once everyone finally leaves. The door clicks shut, and the silence that follows is warm, gentle... almost sacred.

Sunghoon doesn't hesitate.

He steps toward her, arms already lifting.
And the moment Y/N turns to him — tired eyes, soft breath, still trembling from everything she's just heard — he pulls her into his chest.

A shudder leaves him.

"Y/N..." His voice cracks, barely a whisper. "My love... my love, you're back."
The words fall out of him like a prayer that's been held for months.

She melts into him, arms circling his waist, cheek pressed against the place where his heart stutters painfully fast.

"I'm back" she murmurs back, the sound muffled by his shirt. "I'm not going anywhere."

A wave of relief crashes through him so hard he has to tighten his grip. He breathes her in — the familiarity, the steadiness, everything he thought he might lose forever.

They stay like that for a long moment, just breathing.

Eventually, Sunghoon nudges his forehead against hers.
"Sleepy?" he asks, eyes dropping to her lips for a second before snapping back up,

She nods.

They climb onto her bed, both still damp with emotion rather than seawater now. Sunghoon pulls the blanket over them and gathers her against him — one arm under her shoulders, the other around her waist, his chest flush to her back.

She fits there perfectly.

They settle. The room dim. The sheets warm. His thumb traces slow circles over the back of her hand.

"Did it hurt?" he asks suddenly, voice low. He's not talking about the drowning — he's talking about everything. The curse. The coma. The fear.

Y/N turns in his hold until she's facing him, their noses brushing.
"Only the parts where I remembered you and how you would hurt." she answers honestly.

He lets out a breath — shaky, helpless, utterly in love.

"Don't say things like that," he whispers, eyes glimmering. "I'm trying very hard not to fall apart again."

She cups his cheek with her palm, warm and grounding.
"You're allowed to fall apart," she whispers. "Just... let me be here when you do."

That's all it takes.

Sunghoon leans in, resting his forehead against hers once more. His lips graze her brow, then her temple, then the corner of her eye — featherlight, reverent, like he's afraid she'll vanish if he presses too hard.

"I missed you," he breathes. "Every day. Every night. Even when I forced myself not to hope."

She slips a hand beneath his jaw, thumb brushing his pulse.
"I'm right here now," she says softly. "And I'm staying."

He exhales, finally relaxing — truly relaxing — for the first time in months.
They curl into each other until the world outside disappears. His hand settles over her heartbeat. Her fingers tangle with his.

The night holds them gently.

And somewhere between whispered breaths and shared warmth, Sunghoon murmurs one last, fragile confession:
