Frank

Hazel was safe. Thank the gods.

She went to go check in with Camp Half Blood to make sure Percy didn't already bust all of New York's plumbing systems, while I had to go separate a fight between a half brother of mine and a legacy of Hephaestus. Oh, what fun.

"Is there a problem?" I demanded firmly.

"Yes, Praetor...." My half-brother Emmett faltered when he saw me marching up to them with a scowl on my face.

A. J., the legacy of Hephaestus, shook his head. "No problem, Praetor. Just a friendly debate over the most shipped couples."

I raised my eyebrows. "You were yelling about who the cutest couple was?"

They nodded in guilt. I rolled my eyes. "Go back into your routine."

"Frank. I need to talk to you." Reyna said, observing a piece of fruit.

"Sure. When?" I cut a piece of well cooked chicken.

"After dinner. And Hazel, you can come too."

Hazel nodded, a hint of dread in her worried face.

After dinner I met up with Reyna in the praetorian. I sat in one of the two chairs near the front of the room.

"The government is hunting demigods." She stomped into the room.

I frowned. "And why are they hunting demigods? We never bothered the government before."

"They suddenly took an interest into all the missing children in the summer. Why, I don't know."

Hazel had a thoughtful expression on her face. "It has been a couple months since the Giant War ended. While Percy, Frank, and I were on the quest to Alaska, New York had aliens attack. Camp Half-Blood didn't know about this threat, and they were too busy building the Argo II."

Both Reyna and I stared at her with flabbergasted expressions. "I thought you didn't know much about the outside world."

Hazel shrugged. "Thor told me."

Reyna still looked rather confused, but Hazel had told me that the Norse god of thunder was allies with the government agency hunting the demigods. "So, we have mortals almost as smart as Annabeth and Leo and mortals with strange powers hunting us?"

Hazel nodded. "If it came down to a fight, the whole world might be destroyed."

Barton

"This mission is starting to get really difficult." Nat mentioned, searching the area we had been held captive in with a satellite view on one of Tony's computers.

It showed an empty field, instead of the hustling, bustling summer camp it was when we had thought it was. "Tony, did you get anything out of Tristan McLean?" I asked, polishing an arrow. Deep down I had a gut feeling that we were going to get into a fight today. I had brushed it off earlier, but I was so anxious that I started inspecting and fixing my weapons.

Tony shook his head. "That whole talk was fuzzy. The last thing I remember was a very pretty Cherokee girl, his daughter, I think, and her friends leaving. She also did say something, and I can't, for the life of me, remember what she said!"

"Her friends?" Steve asked, looking at the video footage from the actor's visit. I peeked over his shoulder. On it was the actor himself, Tristan McLean, his daughter, Piper, and three other people, two boys and one girl. One of the boys was a blond-haired, lean teenager, that kind of looked like Steve and Thor combined. Same leadership weariness as Steve, same kind of hidden wild power behind his eyes as Thor. The other automatically made me think of Tony, the same wiry build, same way of fiddling with a piece of machinery. He had curly brown hair, and looked to be of Latino descent. The girl had caramel hair back in a braid and a slightly confused look, the same one that Steve usually wears. They were all looking in awe at the tower, but the Latino one was staring right at the camera. All of a sudden the screen went dark.
