*** Gus POV***

What was I thinking? I just kissed Hazel! I haven't even known her for a day! What the heck is wrong with me? I'm not that type of person. I have to become friends with someone before I date them. I have to know a person.

She just stood there in shock. It was like she never kissed a guy before. Maybe she hasn't, maybe I made a good impression. She kissed a guy early today because Ben attacked her. Most likely however I've blown every chance of ever dating her.

Why am I so obsessed with this girl? She is just another new student. A girl I barely know. When I get home I am going to write a list of things I know about her. That way I can at least logically explain my interest in her.

I pull into my driveway an sit there for a moment. It's my first day of school. I skipped practice to go visit Isaac, which coach understood. I had to visit Isaac, because he got in a fight. He got in a fight because he knew I would be expelled and he's a great friend. I was almost expelled because of  another incident with Mike. It's almost a full circle, this year is going to be great. My head hurts.

I get out of my truck I can't stay in it forever. I sigh and get out. I literally have to force myself to take a step. It like guilt is eating me alive. I don't know why I feel so guilty, but I do. Of course I feel bad Isaac is in the hospital.

I open the door and yell, "Hi mom! Hi dad!"

"I'm in the kitchen!" Mom replies.

"Okay." I kick of my shoes, and hang up my letterman jacket.

"Come on in here and tell me about your day!"

"I'm coming mom!" I walk into the kitchen so she isn't yelling. It's her pet peeve if we talk from different rooms. I kiss her on the cheek, while she continues doing dishes.

"How was your day? While your telling me you can put away the dishes."

"Do I have to?" I whine, I really don't want to put effort into anything right now. I want to go to bed and shut out the world.

"Yes." She is using that stern motherly voice.

"Fine," I sigh. I grab a towel and four plates.

"So, how was your first day of senior year?" She nags some more.

"Fine I guess."

"Gus is something wrong?" She is using that sympathetic motherly voice. I know I'm lucky to have such a living mother, but I really don't feel like talking.

"Nope." I reply a little too quickly.

"Gus, do I need to call Isaac?" That is the last thing I need. Anyway she is going to find out sooner or later.

"No! Don't bother him! He needs to rest!"

"Why?"

"He's in the hospital."

"What! Why!" Mom's face is in pure shock. I don't want to tell her everything. I think I'm gonna have to though.

"He got in a fight today and needless to say he lost." I hop on the counter and get scolded by my mother. I don't really care though.

"Isaac isn't a fighter he is the peacekeeper. What happened?"

"I don't really want to talk about it."

"Augustus..."

"Okay, okay! Well today after I left I picked up Olivia. On the way to school we got into an argument that resulted in the end of our relationship."

"I'm sorry Gus, but what does this have to do with Isaac?"

"I'm getting to that. Anyway Olivia was kissing Mike and I got mad. I didn't do anything stupid this time, because Isaac stopped me like a good friend would."

"I think I know where this is going."

"So Isaac split apart the to lovebirds, he punched Mike in the face. I start yelling at Mike. But I wasn't paying attention to Olivia and she beat up Isaac. Until he was knocked unconscious, but this new girl who is really nice picked up Olivia as carried her off to calm her down. Isaac got sent to the hospital and turns out he has a concussion, a broken nose and two black eyes."

"Well I'm glad you didn't get expelled, but you shouldn't take things so personally."

"Yeah I know."

"No more fights."

"I know."

"I'm glad your no longer with that Olivia girl she was nothing but trouble."

"I knew you never liked her."

"She was so annoying and clingy."

"Tell me about," I chuckle.

"Do you have homework?"

"No."

"Go take a shower and go to bed you have school in the morning."

"It's not even eight thirty!"

"No, but I'm your mother and you have had a long day. Go to bed."

"Fine." I hop of the counter. I go to the basement an take a shower.

I get out, get dressed an look at my phone. I have a text from an unknown number and it says:

Hey Gus! It's Hazel not some creepy stalker person and no I don't stalk you Isaac gave it to me! Anyway thanks for making my first day of school awesome!

I look at my phone and all of a sudden I feel extremely drowsy. I fall asleep with my phone in my had completely forgetting about the list.
