New Jersey has never really felt like home to me. Yeah, I know, "Home is where family is", but I find that to be bullshit. Home is where you feel comfortable, where you can be yourself, a safe haven from the outside world.
Nothing has really felt like home yet. I've moved a grand total of 8 times, and I'm not even 18 yet.
My "home country" is technically Michigan, but then I moved to Mississippi, then Maine, then New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, then all the way to London, then to Florida, North Carolina, and finally, New Jersey.
To quote Mean Girls 2, when you've moved as many times as I have, you kinda get attached to the idea of settling down in one spot.
I sigh at the idea of staying in one place for a long time, and scroll down Tumblr on my laptop, looking at the "funny cats" tag. I can't help it, it's my obsession.

buzz!
     buzz!

My phone vibrates next to me, and a message pops up, a text from one of my best friends, Belle, that reads:

"SCORE! Just landed tWO tix for VidCon, all expenses paid, this year! Call me when u get this!1!1!!"

My eyes fly open, mouth drops, a very high pitched delighted shriek escapes my lips as I pick up my phone to see if I read correctly.
You see, I'm obsessed with YouTube. I don't have a favorite YouTuber, I sort of just click on vids as they appear. But I'm obsessed. Extremely obsessed.
VidCon is basically a YouTube convention, where we fly out to California and meet with other YouTube obsesses people and meet YouTubers and just have a blast. I've gone the last 2 years, but this year my friends and I waited to long to buy tickets and they were sold out.
I dial Belle's number and hold the phone up to my ear, waiting in anticipation.

"Did you see my text?" She asks when she picks up, excitement all over every syllable.
"Yes! It can't be true, how?"
"Well, Trev asked me if I was going this year, and after I explaine our situation he gave us the tickets!"

The "Trev" she's talking about is Trevor Moran, a YouTuber she really liked, and she met him a lot of times, so they became close friends and text and call on a daily basis. She says she only likes him as a friend but I think there's something more there.

"Oh my god! Yaaaas!! I can't wait!" I smile so widely my cheeks hurt. I don't care, I'm so happy.
" I know! I need to pack! We leave in two days!!"
"Okay, well me too. I'll see you later?"
"Yeah! Bye!"
"Bye!"

After I hang up, I decide to have a YouTube marathon before I start to pack.
Hmm, what to watch, I think to myself as I scroll the "Recommended for You" tab. I settle on If Humans Acted Like Dogs by Kian Lawley and Jc Caylen, it seems funny. Lately I've been watching a lot of Jc Caylen, Belle claims it's because I've found my favorite YouTuber, but I think it's a phase.
After the video, I click on another one, and then another, and so on, until I look at my clock and it reads 12:43 pm.
Shit, not again...
I close my laptop and set it on my desk, get up to the bathroom and get ready for bed.
I'll just pack tomorrow, I think as I crawl into bed with my phone and scroll Instagram. I'm the queen of procrastination.
After a while, my eyes shutter closed, and I fall into a deep, deep sleep.
