Flo's P.O.V
I finally stopped crying and pushed the phone back into it's holder, pulling Sam close. He smelt bad, time for a change it seemed.
I took in a shakey breath and left the booth. Just as I opened the car boot I heard rustling in the bushes along side the car park we'd stayed in for the night.
The cold air brushed my neck, making my hair stand on end and my skin prickle with goose bumps.
I closed the boot.
Something was wrong. A twig snapped and I whirled round. Nothing.
Your winding your self up Flo, nothing's there. Just change Sam and get in the car. I scolded myself and re-opened the boot, grabbing for a clean nappy as I did so.
I changed Sam at lightning speed and strapped him safely into his seat. He whimpered. I climbed into my own seat and locked the doors.
Sam whimpered again.
I started to hum a lullaby under my breath and he eventually fell asleep. His chest rose and fell in a steady rhythm, his rosy cheeks glowed and my heart swelled with love. And then I screamed.
Eric was stood by the telephone I had used just minutes before. He was smiling. A slow, menacing grin.
Sam started to cry.
