I woke up on the first day back at school after the summer with a spring on my step. At 6:30 I got up and had a shower, followed by choosing an outfit. I had brought plenty of new clothes and couldn't wait to show them off to my friends! Eventually I settled for my short purple skirt and a plain white tank top.

By 7:10 I was down stairs eating breakfast. I brushed my teeth, applied my make-up (mascara and lip gloss, lots of) and checked I had every thing I needed. I pulled my long red hair into a pony-tail and went out the door, shouting a good bye to my parents.

I love my parents I really do, but since Mum got ill Dad's been all about her and less about me. I don't mind, I want Mum to get better too.

I sat at my bus stop, I sat down and sighed. I love school, most people would say that's strange but I honestly do. I have lots of friends, who I can't remember falling out with once, and a boyfriend who I really like. His name is Jonathan, but everyone calls him Jon.

When the bus pulled in I could see my friends already seated at the back where we usually sit. I clambered on (I'm not a very graceful person) and took my seat, right in the middle with my friends.

"Flo!" squealed Sophie in a very squeaky voice.

"Hi guys," I said and took them all in. They had changed so much over the summer.

Sophie's long blonde hair was now at shoulder length and Christy had hair! Just before the summer Christy beat cancer and now she's so over the top excited. Her light brown hair was in a short bob style... and so was Gem's. The two twins had to look the same, didn't they?

I hadn't changed much at all. my waistlength red hair had grown a little but that was about it.

"Christy you look amazing!" I exclaimed and she looked up into my blue eyes with her Brown ones.

"Thanks, I really wanted to have hair this term." Christy had always been shy, unlike her sister,

"I've been stuck inside for days!" she almost shouted.

"And why is that?" I asked.

"Oh, I got grounded, apparently threatening to cut all the heads of the flowers in the garden, and beheading a whole flower bed just to show I'll do it, is not good."

"Idiot." muttered Sophie and we all and we all burst out laughing.

The bus stopped suddenly and we left our seats, "Why did you cut your hair?" I asked Sophie.

"Oh, new year, new look."

"But you loved your hair long."

"I love it short aswell."

"OK." I said though I didn't belive her.

We went through the school gates and... I screamed as Jon lifted me from behind.

"Put me down!" I yelled and he did so, after he turned me in his arms and placing a kiss on my mouth.

I sighed, I hadn't seen Jon much over the summer but before that we'd been dating for around a month.

"Eww!" said Gem and pretended to throw up. Gemima had never really matured when it came to dating, but then again, she and her sister were basically the youngest in the year (Only just 15 when I'd be 16 very soon).

"Come on, all your fans want autographs." said Jon

"What fans?" I asked.

"You know, all the ones that love your book!"

"You didn't"

"We did!" They all shouted at once. I had written a short romance novel about a young girl called Jess before the holidays. All my friends had read it and threatened to put it in the school magazine and juging by all the kids running up to me I guess they did.

"Good luck!" said Gem and they sank into the crowd. I swallowd nervously. I was always shy like Christy and felt like I was about to faint. I was saved by Miss Roberts who came over and broke up the crowd.

I spotted my friends, or should I say ex-friends, giggling in front of the school and marched over.

"Not cool guys." I snapped, making them laugh even more. I sighed I couldn't stay mad at these weirdos even if I wanted to.

"Now your popular we can rule the school!" exclaimed Sophie, her green eyes light up from laughing.

"Me? Popular? No I think you will find we're not popular." I said and they burst out laughing again.
