Prophecies were what the gods lived for. They would perform little feats in order to keep the world balanced. A great stone wall stood tall in the center of Zeus' court. Day by day, new prophecies would appear and change and disappear. However, one day a strange and horrifying verse etched itself on the wall. It read: Hell will send a spawn of demon flesh. It's goal is to take zeus' throne. You will send a son of godly flesh. He will pass a tedious trial alone. The tasks to complete are a treacherous feat. The winner will say weather man gets to stay or move to an underworld home.

The gods were outraged that their plan had failed. Zeus had been hiding in his chambers. The almighty god was not going to let the others' questions stir his faith, but he had to be strong and face them.
The doors of the castle creaked open and Zeus stepped forth.
"SILENCE!" He called. "I will not have these silly, pestering questions stray us from the matter at hand. Malin is dead and obviously we were too hasty. We unleashed our warrior sooner than necessary."
The crowd began to stir. They did not like being reminded of their mistakes.
"But my people, LOOK!" Zeus gestured to the wall of prophecies. "The prediction has not changed and it has not disappeared. There will still be a great warrior to defeat the demons of hell and this time we will just have to keep faith that this will sort itself out just like all the others." because if it doesn't Zeus thought we're in a whole mess of trouble.
After the gods had dispersed, a faint grinding sound could be heard in the distance. The wall was changing, but only one letter was added.

Hey it's my first AN in this book.
The only thing I quickly wanted to clarify is that in the beginning the chapters skip around from Maya's life now to the gods/ benders life just after Malin was overthrown. So pretty much past to present. Also tell a friend about this book because it had about 1k reads before I rewrote it so let's get it back up. Thank you!
