Chapter 9

"How do I look??".

I turn my head. My breathing stopped. Rainbow and Steven stood there. Rainbow Dash was wearing a dark blue and hot pink leotard. It fit her just right. Her hair was in a messy bun. She looked stunning.

"You look amazing", Rarity said squealing. Rainbow blushed.

"Thanks", she said walking over to us.

She stretched her arms and legs. Rainbow slipped on her skates and smiled at us sadly.

"Before my mom died in the hospital, she promised me that every year on the day she died, when I would skate or dance for her, she said she would watch me. I know that's a little creepy. I can tell she's here. I can feel her spirit. That's how close our bond between us was".

I smiled. That's so sweet and little creepy but cool. Rainbow sighed and stood up.

-switching to No one's POV-

Rainbow Dash walked over to the rink. Once she stepped onto the ice, she felt at home. The teen skated around for a bit, just enjoying the feeling she got when she skated.

When she was ready Rainbow skated to the center of the rink. She looked at the group.

"When you're ready RD", Steven said, laptop on his lap. "I'll start the song".

The laptop was connected to speakers Rainbow nodded and relaxed. Steven played the song. There were speakers in the room. The song started. It was very relaxing. The girls loved it immediately.

( The song is called Shine. From the movie Barbie and the twelve dancing princesses. Don't judge XD it's a great song and you should listen to it. It's very inspiring)

There's a place you can go where your heart is free. There's a rhythm that's right for your soul.

Rainbow began with a spin. She moved her arms gracefully over her head and around her body.

Take a breath, find your courage and make the leap. Cause your feet always know whereto go. And you dance and you dance in an endless flow. In the grace of a perfect design.

Rainbow started to skate off, spinning quickly.

Stepping out of the dark and into the glow. The whole world will see when you shine. Shiiine. Shiiine.

Spinning, Rainbow stopped and waited for the next verse.

There's a beauty already inside of you. There's a difference that only you'll make.

Rainbow slowly stretched her her out towards the girls. She began to spin and skate around the rink, arms outstretched. Rainbow stared to spin on one foot.

Every place that you spin brings you somewhere new. Finding hope every step that you take. And you dance and you dance in an endless flow. In the grace of a perfect design.

Rainbow did spins and skated around gracefully as if dancing. Applejack was mesmerized.

"Something's not right here", she heard beside her. Turning she saw Steven with a frown on his face.

"What??", Applejack asked.

Steven looked at her.

"Usually when Rainbow danced she's more relaxed. Her skating isn't as good as it normally is. She's usually doings fast spins and skating around the rink with a smile on her face. I can tell the difference. She's holding back".

Applejack looked back at Rainbow. He was right. The way Rainbow described skating and seeing videos of Eden Dash skating in the past, was much more than how Rainbow was skating now.

Applejack knew just what to do. Getting up she hurried over to the skates section. She found a pair in her size and slipped them on.

"Applejack!!".

Applejack looked at her friends.

"What are you doing??", Twilight asked.

Applejack smiled. "Givin her a lil confidence boost".

She skated onto the ice. She was very good at skating, though nowhere near as good as Rainbow was. The blonde glided over to Rainbow. She took her by surprise and scooped her up. Rainbow gasped in surprise.

Suddenly sparkling bright (shine)

"What are you doing??".

Making a magical light you can (shine)
Sisters are there by your side. Love will be your guiiiide.

Applejack spun her around her in arms. Bringing her down Applejack smiled.

"Somethin ah shoulda done a long time ago".

She leaned in and kissed her. Rainbow was stunned. Wasn't his really happening??. Applejack pulled away and smirked.

"Wanna dance??".

Rainbow smiled. The two were off.

Stepping out of the dark and into the glow.

Applejack spun Rainbow around. The blonde, the two smiled and laughed.

The whole world will see when we shine. We can shiiine. Shiiine.

As they glided across the ice, Applejack took Rainbow by her waist and lifted her up. She put her down and they spun around. Rainbow jumped into the air and sun, landing perfectly. The girls joined hands.

Applejack pulled her close and they danced around, almost ballroom dancing. It was a beautiful sight to the others.

The girls looked into eachother's eyes and as they stopped. They froze into a finishing pose as the song finished.
