Applejack's POV

I sighed as I sank down in my seat. I dropped my bag on the floor and put my head down on the desk. My eyes could hardly stay open.

I hate mornings. I hate school.

I want my Rainbow. Where was she??.

"What's up with you?", I hear Twilight ask me.

I pick my head up and look at her. The gals were looking at me, obviously amused by me being so dramatic. I sigh.

"Ah hate mornins. Ah want Rainbow", I whine.

I know I sounded like Rainbow Dash for a second but it's true. I wanted her to be here already. She told us not to pick her up this morning and that she'd walk to school today.

So here we are, sitting in homeroom, waiting.

"She's here", I hear Rarity said.

I sat up immediately, looking over at the doorway. I was a bit too happy but then again, it's Rainbow Dash. My beautiful, adorable, amazing, loving, perfect girl. Emphasis on the words MY GIRL. So back off everyone.

I look at Rainbow. My joy immediately turned to confusion and worry. She walked towards us, her hood up. Something was wrong.

Rainbow sat down beside me. She didn't look at me. Her hood made it impossible for me to see her face. She put her head down in her arms.

I look at the others. They had the same confused and worried look on their faces as well. I look at Rainbow.

"Rainbow. Are you alright??", I ask quietly.

Rainbow nodded. I lean in close, wrapping an arm around her waist.

"Just tired", she mumbled so quietly, I had a little trouble hearing it.

"Physically or mentally??", I whispered.

Rainbow looked up at me. She looked so down and exhausted.

"Both", she said, with a small shrug.

I smile a little.

"Is there anythin' on yir mind that you wanna talk about??", I ask.

Rainbow sat up and pulled her hoodie down. My eyes widened. She had a black eye and a busted lip.

"Oh my gosh", I heard one of the girls say.

"What happened??", I asked.

I knew exactly what happened. Her father beat her up again. But I wanted her to tell me herself. It was healthy that she said it so that way she couldn't become one of those people who denied the abuse or was in denial about the whole situation.

Rainbow's eyes lowered.

"My dad punched me a few times when he got mad at me", she said quietly.

It was quiet. No one knew what to say. Rainbow suddenly grabbed a pencil and threw it across the room. Everyone looked at us as the pencil hit the window on the opposite side of the room and fell to the floor.

Rainbow crossed her arms and huffed, sinking into her seat. I knew exactly what to do in this situation.

"Rainbow", I said, getting her attention.

Rainbow looked up at me. I silent held my hands out, like you would a child wanting to be held. Rainbow nodded and immediately climbed onto my lap. I wrap my arms around her skinny body. Rainbow laid her head on my shoulder.
