All round me are decimated buildings and broken skulls. The smell of stale blood and fire permeate the soil which is stained red with blood, it almost looks like the sky fell to the floor.
Dead trees surround me like a forest of death.
"Where is he?" I ask myself, I survey my surroundings and spot a column of smoke arising from what appeared to be a pile of rubble, but upon closer inspection showed to be a house, I rush over to it and peer though one of the windows.
Although the window was dirty and hard to see through, I saw the figure I saw earlier, with black hair and a muscular build, sitting on a tattered sofa watching a TV which looked older than the walls around Guardiana.
I can't help but feel a twinge of sadness in my heart, a person who looks no older than me, living in such a place, and I'm only 15.
I turn to leave the Scene in front of me but I notice the boy get up and leave, so I carry on, and almost headbutt someone, I look up and am met by a pair of piercing red eyes glare back at me, I continue upwards and see the short messy black hair and pale skin. It's the boy from earlier.
"You lost?" The boy says with a devilish grin.
"No!" I say abruptly.
"Then why else are you here?"
"I'm sorry, I must go!"
"You're not leaving yet, what's your name?" The boy whispers with an irritated smile.
"My name is Elysia Levagelia."
"Long name, well I guess you want to know mine." The boy chuckles to himself.
"Do I have a choice?"
"No, it's a stupid formality, but oh well, my name is Beat Animaux, but you'll probably never see me again."
"Why not?"
"Because it's best if you never come back out here." Beat says as he glares at me.
"What if I want to."
"Then you have a death wish, just get out of here."
"Fine, but I'm coming back."
"Don't, the last thing we need is another dead person."
"What do you mean?"
"People die out here, that is the reason for the walls."
"But why do people have to die!? Why is this war even going on?"
"Listen, how can I know, it's nothing we can change, I doubt even the gods can change this." Beat's eyes darken and he crosses his arms across his chest.
"Don't talk about gods in front of me."
"Why?"
"Because the gods have forsaken us! What kind of God could allow this to happen. Gods don't care about us." I mutter, Beat then grabs me sharply by the collar and lifts me up, choking the breath out of me.
"Don't say that! The gods care! Do you think even they can help this, what are they supposed to do?! Wipe out the other races!?"
"Y-your... Hurting me." I choke, he then drops me to the floor.
"I'm sorry, just get out of here and don't come back."
