"What happened?!" Ed asked with a mixture of concern and panic.
Alright then. Not gonna lie, I was scared out of my mind. What if he found out?! This was definitely going to be interesting.
"Oh- um-that? Heh... that's-that's nothing, really! Nothing to worry about..." but before I could run off,Ed grabbed my arm with his automail one. "I'm serious, (y/n)! What the hell happened?!" "Ha... that's one hell of a death grip you got there..."
"Perks of having automail limbs. Now, sit. Down. Tell me what happened."
I sighed. "Well, how about you tell me? I'm sure you're not an idiot, you probably suspect it already."
He stares me down long and hard.
Then he states the damn obvious:
"From the blood and Roxy's arm, I'd say you failed at human transmutation."
"No shit, Sherlock! But really, at least I know I'm not alone. This house is basically IdiotCon, most people have tried and failed at the same thing here!"
"Uhh, a few questions. 1) How did you KNOW?! 2) Who's Sherlock? And 3) Uhh... IdiotCon?" After my tiny fit of giggles, I answer:
"1) It's a bit obvious Al's hollow, 2) He's a detective guy from this old book series, and 3) It stands for Idiot Convention..."
"Oh, ok. Wait- is it that obvious Al's hollow?" "Well... not to the naked eye, but he IS a bit clumsy, and it sounds really hollow when he hits something, so that's a dead giveaway..." "Oh." "Yeah."
"So, (y/n), can I ask... who was it?"
"Oh.... he was, uh, Roxy's uncle. He died in a war, not the Ishbalan war, mind you, and we were close."
That wasn't a complete lie. At age 13, Roxy and I would've done it... that is, until Mr. George Weasley walked in on us....
It was heartbreaking. His reaction, I mean. He looked like he'd been betrayed, and started choking up and saying that he doesn't want to lose anyone else...
"(Y/n)? Are you with me?" "Huh?" "I said, what happened?" "Oh, he got distracted for a moment and got shot." With a Killing Curse.
"Oh."
"Yeah."
Silence. Dead silence. I was thinking of a way to change the subject, and then I realized.
"Oh, hey! I haven't taken your measurements yet!" "Oh, a-alright. Let's get this over with."
