Awkwardness at its Best

As I slowly woke up, I realized Al wasn't there. "Meh, he's probably off with Winry or Granny." I thought to myself. I hauled my body up from the bed and stomped down the stairs, half asleep. When I got down the only people there were Pinako and Winry, which made me frown in confusion. "Hey, Ed! What's the matter?" Winry said, a bright smile lighting up her face. "Have you seen Al?" I asked worriedly. "No... I thought he was with you!" Winry said, also starting to frown. Anxiously, I got up and went upstairs to see if Al was there, and heard the sound of pages turning from (y/n)'s room. Out of curiosity, I looked through the crack in her door, and what I saw surprised me. Sitting on the bed beside a sleeping (y/n), absorbed in the pages of a book, was the one and only Alphonse Elric.
The emotions went like this: surprise, relief, then a sinking feeling at the bottom of my stomach which I couldn't comprehend.
"Alphonse!" I whispered/shouted angrily, making him start in surprise. "Have you been here all this time?!"
"Um, yeah-"
"I was looking all over for you!! Do you know how worried I was?! And why're you here of all places?!" Resuming my whisper/shouting, I glanced over at (y/n), then back at Alphonse, and more anger arose. "Nothing, nii-san, it was last night-" "Last night?! What do you mean by last night?!" "No, no, not that! And calm down, you'll wake (y/n) up!"
I looked at her sleeping figure and felt sort of guilty. Al was right, if I continued I might wake her up. I sighed aggressively, then Alphonse said "Thank you. Now, even if I had the slightest intention of doing to her what you just implied, I wouldn't be able to, since I'm a suit of armor. Aside from that misunderstanding, I was reading and talking with her last night. We were the only two people up since she had an insomnia attack-" "What's that?" I asked. "It's like when you have sleepless nights for so long it becomes a condition. From what she's told me, (y/n) has gotten much better and rarely has insomnia anymore. Are we done with the interruptions?" "...Maybe" "Ok. So I heard sounds from her room and went to check on her. She told me she was reading and I decided to join her. Why does this worry you so much anyways? You usually worry, but not this much." "No reason, I suddenly got kind of... paranoid..." I said, glancing at (y/n), who was stirring in her sleep. "...Riiight..." Al said, damn him, I could practically hear him smirking. "We should go," I said, looking at him in a don't-you-even-dare kind of way. "Alright, if you say so!" Al said mockingly. "Only you didn't." I headd him mutter as we left. Then I noticed the book in his hands.
"Hey, Al, what's that?" "Oh, it's one of (y/n)'s books, but it's a sort of tragedic horror story, and we both know you've never been good with emotions-" "What?! Al, I'm better at dealing with emotions than you are. One measly comic book isn't enough to ruin me!" "If you say so, but you should ask (y/n) before you take it. She'll freak out if she can't find it." "Alright, alright..."
"Hey guys...." (y/n) suddenly said, walking clumsily down the stairs while rubbing her eyes. "Hi (y/n)!" "Oh, hey, Al! Do you like Tokyo Ghoul so far?" "Yeah, but it's really sad..." "It gets worse as you continue. Just saying." "Um... what do you mean by that?"
"Centipede is all I'm gonna say." "Uh... Hey, (y/n).." "Oh, Ed! Hey!" (Y/n) said, giving me a close-eyed smile. "(Y/n)! You're awake! Can you help me with breakfast?" Winry said, bursting into the room.
"Sure!" (Y/n) said. "Let me go wake Roxy up."
As I heard (y/n)'s footsteps fade away, I sighed. "Hey Al, let's go spar." "No offense, brother... but how can we spar if you're missing two limbs?" "...Yeah.."
"..."
"So are you sure you don't like (y/n)?"
"Positive."
•••Y/N's POV•••
I went upstairs to get Roxy, whom I could hear snoring from the end of the hall. I entered her room cautiously and quietly made my way towards the bed. "Roxy! Wake up!" I said. Nothing. "ROXYYYYY!!!" She stirred a bit and continued snoring.
Well.
Desperate times call for desperate measures.
I kneeled down and shouted right in her ear: "CAAAAAARLLLL THAT KILLS PEOPLE!!!" Ah, the famous quote from Llamas with Hats. She woke up with a start and instinctively slapped my face. Luckily, that was her flesh arm. "What the hell was that for?!" "You weren't waking up so I quoted Llamas with Hats." The irritated Ravenclaw stared at me long and hard and said:
"No."
I couldn't help it. I burst out laughing. She just looked so done. "Shut it, will you?" Roxy said, smacking me with a pillow. "Alright, alright! Let's go get some breakfast!"
As we both went down the stairs I heard Al say "Are you suuuuuuure?" Suddenly Ed sees me going down and blushes, apparently in a state of panic. "Hey guys!" "Oh, hi, Roxy!" Al said, waving. "What's with Ed?" She asked, nodding in his direction. "Well, what-what's with you two?! I heard one of you scream something about Carl and killing! Isn't that a little strange?!" And once again, I- wait, no, I'll let you guess.
Hard, wasn't it?
I burst out laughing.
