I opened flipped to "Artificial Wurnets" and started reading.
"During the Great War, more forces were needed. But forces made of Wurnets just wouldn't do it. They needed a better Wurnet. One more intelligent and strong. Around this time, scientists, specifically, Dr. Terry Ford was dying to try and create life from scratch and this was the perfect opportunity. Ford belonged to the Blent class so people didn't trust his ideas at first and wouldn't allow it. However, the Wurnets were losing the war and eventually, they had to give in. "
"And so, he went on and eventually produced the ideal Wurnet. Beautiful, intelligent, and strong. They helped the Wurnets win the war. For some mysterious reason though, their hair was bright green, a color Wurnets never were supposed to have. Bright green represented evil. They had amethyst colored eye, a color associated with curses. Because of this, the scientist was hanged and orders were given to assassinate all his experiments. Orders were given to assassinate the scientist as well. But soon, after only two assassinations, the Experiments found out and started to rebel. They killed the normal ones off. They say that some Wurnets died without the Experiments even being near. No one has an explanation for this, but there are rumors that some Experiments have special powers."
"But one of the Experiments betrayed the others and teamed up with the Wurnets, working as a double agent. Soon after that, all the Experiments had either died or fled. And the one Experiment who had betrayed the others, named Mark, was celebrated, but the community was still nervous around him and the government fully expected him to kill them all. So they made plans to kill him in his sleep, but Mark found out about these plans and fled. No one knows where but it is rumored that he found the other Experiments and built a peaceful kingdom where all of them live. Sometimes, Wurnets claim to have seen the Opian Beast. A creature designed by the Experiments to spy on the Wurnets and to kill anyone who sees them. People who have seen it claim that it looks like a tree mixed with a bear. Any sightings-"
It stopped there, I turned the page. When I did, I found the next page covered in glowing purple ink, scrawled over the original words. At first I thought some idiot had defaced the page, but then ink doesn't glow. It isn't purple either is it? Since amethysts are associated with curses? I ignored it deciding it must be some idiot with glowing ink. They've got to have glowing ink here haven't they? What with the fancy capsules. But then the ink had covered nearly all the words so I gave up trying to read it. Instead I read the purple words.
"LISTEN. IF YOU CAN READ THIS, YOU'VE GOT TO RUN. IMMEDIATELY. SOMEONE'S OUT TO GET YOU. YOU'LL KNOW WHERE TO GO. IF YOU DON'T FOR SOME REASON, YOU'LL WHERE TO FIND HELP. RUN TO US, AND WE CAN BEGIN THE PROCESS. GOOD LUCK... THIS IS REAL. LILLIAN."
Upon reading this, naturally, I panicked. Was this some kind of sick joke? It was a really sick joke if so. I just sat there, not knowing what to do. In shock. I probably looked like an idiot. Tell Winfrey? No, no no non non on on n o no no . NO. Okay calm down. Calm the heck down. CALM THE HECK DOWN. Okay. Reread it. Reread. Okay. This is NOT A COINCIDENCE. I AM FREAKING THE HECK OUT OMIGOD. Where do I go?! What do I do? Where? Find who? Immediately? WHO AM I? At this point everything began fading. The edges first. Slowly.
Where?
Almost at the center.
Find who? I can now only see a little dot of light.
WHO AM I?
Darkness. But just before I konk out completely, I hear the tiniest voice whisper, "Why, you're the princess of course..."
Sorry this chapter is so short but I just had to end on that. :p
