Gary's pov:
With blood pouring out of me I still manage to crawl my way over to the captain's chair before pulling out the claw still stuck in my stomach.
"Status report." I ask HUE while sealing off the wound. "Gery, we have lost the Galaxy one." HUE says. "We still have a left pulse engine..." "It is the right pulse engine, and it is not enough to face the Lord Commander."
"Gary, There is one option you haven't considered. You can abandon ship." HUE says. "I'm not running away. Not this time." I say "At one point, that made sense but... I'm not that guy anymore."
"I'd give you a cookie, but I think you've outgrown that now." "What?! NO!! Give me a cookie, I will never ever outgrow a cookie!" I yell at HUE, how dear he assume I don't want a cookie.
"I'm sorry Gary, but they are gone... all gone..." "That suckes HUE" "It really does Gary" "We can't let this guy win..." "Gary, I know that look. Please reconsider." "No way Jose, I won't reconsider." I say determined, I refuse to let the Lord Commander win.
I manage to walk over to one of the control planes and set the course straight to the Lord Commander's main ship, before limping my way back to the captain's chair. I get a warning from HUE, but ignore it. "It's the only way to stop him from taking out Quinn. And I have to save Mooncake. Do I really have to make a list for you right now!!?" I yell out frustrated. Why can't HUE just help me out instead of caring so much about my safety.
"If we're going out, we're going out big." I say dramatically "Agreed. We must do everything possible to destroy that dick loaf." HUE finally agrees. I get the handles for the ship ready and pull on my mask before HUE and I take off straight towards the Lord Commander's ship. As we get closer, his ship starts firing towards us. I manage to dodge some of it, but it didn't matter how much he destroyed my ship, it was already lost, and I had no plan of backing out. We crash hard into the Lord Commander's ship, making me fly out of the captain's chair.
When I get up, I hear HUE talking in a stuttering tone. "Gary.. the galaxy 1... is des..troi..d..." "HUE, quick! Transfer your AI into my helmet!" I say, hoping it's not too late.
Nothing happens for a moment and I start to get worried. "No, no, no, HUE. HUE!" My screen then lights up and HUE is transferred into my helmet. "Yes Gary, I'm here."
"Oh my gosh. Don't ever leave me HUE." I say with a sigh of relief. "Wouldn't think of it Gary." Just then I hear Mooncake screaming out in pain, and I turn determined and walk towards the sound. I find the Lord Commander on the floor, puking up his own blood. I show no mercy and immediately point my gun at his head. But I get distracted by Mooncake's whimpers in pain.
The Lord Commander gets up and faces me. "There he is, the infamous hero. The Gary!" He says in frustration. "Just Gary!" I yell back. "Yes. Just, the Gary."
"Let him go! He's done nothing to you!" "You're just in time to see Mooncake open the door to final space." He gestures as he rips out two cables from his own control table.
"Heng tight little buddy." I say to Mooncake and make a run for him. But as I get closer, the Lord Commander joins the two cables, which causes an energy blast that sends me backwards. He screams out, and I can see something changing on the Lord Commander's face. Like he's sucking in the energy.
He smiles brightly and lets go of the cables before he starts hovering. 'Shit, this can't be good' I think as I watch it happen.
I start shooting at him, but the blasts don't even hit him, before he evaporates my gun. "Can't you see? There is no one beside you. Avocato, his son, your crew. Everyone you've cared about is GONE! All because of that." He says, pointing at Mooncake. "And now your life ends. But nothing quick, I want you to experience the same pain you put me through. A slow, painful death."
"You don't get it so you? The good guy's, win in the end. They always do." I say desperately as the Lord Commander uses his powers to pin me to the ground. "No, not this time, the Gary." "Don't do this Jack!" I yell out in one last desperate attempt.
"Why would you call me that? Speak!!" "You used to like taquitos, and hanging out with my dad man." I remind him. "Oh, John Goodspeed's son. That changes NOTHING!" "You don't need to do this Jack!" "Stop calling me that!! That person died the day I was chosen."
"I don't think you were chosen. You getting these powers was a mistake." "Mistake!!?" The Lord Commander yells in frustration before using his powers to blast me off the ship.
I fly into the endless space and manage to put my helmet on just in time. I drift off in a panic before seeing the Lord Commander firing the canon at the breach. A giant titan hand appears and takes hold of earth before disappearing again.
I'm in complete shock, 'we didn't stop it...' I think, defeated. I'm trying to process everything when I get an incoming call from Quinn. "Gary?" I hear her soft voice. "Quinn..." I respond.
"I'm sorry..." "For what" "For not telling you sonner..." "You can tell me when you get back." "Gary..." "No... no don't.. don't say it." I say as tears are already forming in my eyes. "I'm not coming back. We've lost the earth, but I can still save you... Goodbye Gary... I'll miss you..."
I'm in too much shock to speak back, and by the time I see the big blast, it's too late. "Quinn!!! HUE get her back! Come on, come on! Quinn!!!" Tears are streaming down my face as I desperately yell out to Quinn, but there is no answer.
I drift off, further and further into space. "HUE, what are my chances of getting out of this mess?" I ask, not wanting to die. "In your current state, you will pass the point of no recovery in 10 minutes." HUE informs me.
"Well crap, that's not good." I look around at any sign of a ship or life that has made it. I see nothing and let out a big sigh before my eyes land on a Y/f/c blob that seems to be floating towards me. As it gets closer, I realize what it is.
It's Y/n. Curled up in herself like a little ball.
