I woke up early this morning, I got showered and dressed and walked out into the kitchen. I didn't see steve anywhere. I walked around the house searching for him. I got a cup of coffee and sat at the kitchen table drinking it when I heard the front door open. I leaned back in my chair to see steve come in. he smiled and kissed me softly.

"where were you" I asked.

"I ran home to shower and change, I tried to get back before you woke up" he said.

"oh" I smiled.

"ready to go" he asked.

"a case already" I asked.

"yea I know, maybe this weekend we can take a little trip, just us" he said.

"that sounds amazing" I said heading out the door with him.

We got in our cars and headed to the office. We parked outside and headed in, not even caring that we showed up at the same time. We got inside and I headed to my office. Danny and kono were in the lobby going over evidence, chin started talking to steve as soon as he came in. I walked out to the lobby to see what we were dealing with. Danny turned to me and gave me a sympathy look. I sighed and went back to looking the case over.

"alright lets head to the crime scene" steve said.

We all headed out. I got in my truck and steve walked over. I knew everyone was watching us.

"im not going to say anything to danny until after the case" he said.

"alright they are all staring" I said.

"tell them I asked you if you had your badge because you weren't wearing it inside" he said.

"alright" I said.

"see you soon beautiful" he smiled.

Steve went to his truck and we all headed to the crime scene. We were surrounding the body of an older female.

"the landlord came to collect rent and found her like this, landlord had been calling her for two weeks and trying to stop by for two weeks to collect the rent. He said he hadn't seen or heard from our vic since the first of last month when he collected the rent" steve said.

"it's the 24th" danny said.

"correct which means shes been dead at least two weeks" steve said.

"that explains the smell" danny said.

"doesn't explain the air fresheners" I pointed out car fresheners hanging over the air vents.

"no it doesn't" kono said looking around.

"search around for anything out of place" steve said.

We all went separate ways and looked around the house for anything that looked odd. Kono ended up finding water bottles that were full of chemicals. Chin ran the liquids to the lab to be tested.

We finished investigating the house. Danny decided he needed to speak to me. He pulled me outside leaving steve and kono inside alone. Danny and I were at the side of the house.

"im sorry for how I acted" he said.

"danny this isn't the time or place" I said.

"I understand that, but I just want you to know that I will be the bigger guy, I want to meet this guy still but ill be the bigger man and be nice, and anytime you want to fix whatever is wrong between us im right here" he smiled.

"nice, alright" I sighed walking towards the house.

Danny grabbed my arm and jerked me back and up against his chest. He kissed me hard. I pushed off his chest.
