I wanted you to know

Today is our day off. I woke up wrapped up in Steve's arms. Steve sat up slowly and kissed me softly.

"Good morning beautiful" Steve smiled standing up out of bed.

"Good morning" I smiled.

We joined each other in the living room, still in pajamas for a cup of coffee and some breakfast. Steve decided to cook for us. I was sat at the bar in the kitchen watching him until the doorbell scared me half to death.

"I shall return" I smiled.

"Should I hide in the bedroom" he asked.

"Are you hiding your relationship" I asked.

"Nope" he smiled.

"Alright then" I smiled.

I walked to the front door and opened it to see Danny.

"Can we talk" he asked.

"Uh yea" I said looking over my shoulder.

"He's here huh" he asked.

"Yea" I said.

"We will talk some other time" he said stepping off the porch.

"What do you want Danny" I asked stepping out.

"Listen I understand why Steve is the better match for you, I do, he's got no kids and it's all just easy for you guys. I lied yes, I had other girls yes, but you were the only one I allowed near grace" he said.

"Because I worked with you Danny" I said.

"Not because of that, I wanted you around grace, I wanted you to be what she needed, I wanted to share her with you" he said.

"You can't just throw your kid onto me though and expect me to be the mother she wants or a mother period" I said.

"I know and I apologize" he said.

"What's up" Steve asked stepping out in just pajama pants.

"I was just talking with tay about what happened" Danny said.

"Everything ok" Steve asked.

"Yea" Danny said.

"Tay" Steve asked.

"Yea I'm heading in, listen Danny, nothing is going to change, Steve and I are together, you have your girlfriend, enjoy her" I smiled softly and walked inside.

I heard a bit or arguing but ignored it. I made Steve and I plates and walked out the backdoor and sat on the patio. Steve joined me moments later.

"Food looks good" I smiled.

"Glad you think so, I however think you look good" he smiled.

"Aren't you so sweet" I smirked.

Steve's phone started going off. He picked it up and spoke for a few minutes then hung up.

"Day off is cancelled" he sighed taking his last bite and taking our dishes inside.

"What's up today commander" I asked.

"Let's get showered, kono called, a witness to a murder has gone missing we are to locate her and get her to the court house. On top of that Danny's ex-wife and daughter were carjacked at gun point" he said quickly.

"Alright let's get on it" I said rushing to the room to get showered.

Steve and I showered fast and got dressed. We got in Steve's truck and hauled ass to hpd. Once inside we went over everything with kono and chin then headed to the location. Upon arrival we found the dead body of the FBI agent that was in place to keep an eye on the witness. We also found two dead officers in the truck of their squad car.
