8 - dreams

I was alone.

I was crying.

I never felt this sad in my entire life. I don't know what to do. I'm in a shield; something's protecting me. I can hear screams, cries. I covered my ears and started to worry. I can't do anything but cry.

My shield was gone. I opened my eyes and looked at my surroundings. Everything's blurry because of my tears are welling in my eyes and I wiped them. I got a clearer view of my situation right now and saw a destroyed village. I feel so afraid. I'm all alone. I looked up and saw my guildmates  starting to disappear.

.....

"Everyone!" I yelled as I woke up. I realized that it was all just a dream. I'm full of sweat and my cheeks are wet because of my tears. I grabbed the tip of my shirt and started wiping off my tears and sweat. 

I stood up and walked to the cabinet near the bathroom door and grabbed a hand towel. I went to the bathroom and turned on the faucet (on the sink). I washed my face with soap and water. I turned off the faucet and shook my hands to get the excess water out of hands. I grabbed my hand towel and started dabbing it to my face. 

I went back in my bed and stared at Lucy. The sweet, kind, loving Lucy who was asleep sile—

"NATSU!" Lucy yelled (so loud the landlady downstairs can hear it) as she got up. "Oh, it was just a dream.

"EEK!" I screamed as Lucy yelled. "Lucy, you just gave me a mini heart attack!"

"S-sorry," Lucy said with a peace sign.

"By the way, you dream about Natsu?" I smiled playfully.

"W-what?" she said nervously. She got up from bed and went to the kitchen and started getting plates to prepare our breakfast.

"No, you just mentioned— I mean, yelled Natsu's name awhile ago," I said with narrow eyes and playful smile. I followed her in the kitchen and did a pose that'll irritate her.

"W-well, h-he.... IT'S NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS!" Lucy exclaimed as she turned back. I walked in front of her again and saw her red cheeks even though her head is facing the floor. My mind was like, MASHIMA!!! THIS MEANS CANON!!! OTP! OTP!

"She liiiiiikeeessss him!" I rolled my tongue and posed again.

"Stop rolling your tongue like that! And stop impersonating Happy!" Lucy ordered. I just laughed and mocked Lucy more.

I  went to the bar station and talked to Mirajane.

"Good morning, Mira!" I smiled as I greeted her. She was busy washing the plates, but she still managed to talk to me.

"Hello, Crystal! Having a good time here in Magnolia?" Mirajane asked as she went out her area (in the bar station) and sat with me by the counter. 

"Absolutely. And by the way, where do Erza buys her cake?" I asked.

"Oh, sometimes in a cake shop and sometimes I make one for her," Mirajane replied.

"You make one for her?" I eagerly asked. Mirajane nodded. "Can I have one, please?"

"One strawberry shortcake, coming right up!" Mirajane said as she stood and started to prepare her ingredients.

Oh, boy! I'm gonna try Erza's favorite cake! I can't wait for it. By the way, I can't see Erza in the guild. No wonder no one's stopping Natsu and Gray from fighting and punching. I went to Lucy (she's with Happy and Levy) and asked her if she saw Erza around.

"Well, I'm not really sure," Lucy replied. "Why?"

"Well, it's just that I'm not used that Erza's around," I said. I began to sit beside Happy and we both rested our head on the table and closed our eyes to rest it. "Urgh, I feel so tired."

"Aye," Happy agreed with a dopey voice.

After few minutes of my eyes closed, I heard footsteps coming closer to our place. I opened my eyes and I got up. I saw Mirajane placed a plate with a piece of cake on our table.

"Here you go, Crystal. Hope you'll like it," Mirajane smiled and she went back to the bar station, cleaning plates and utensils. I went back to my plate and grabbed it closer to me.

"Wow!" Happy exclaimed as he got up too and sat closer to me.

"Woah, that looks pretty delicious," Lucy said as she stared at the cake.

"Yeah, I think so too," Levy-chan smiled.

I grabbed the fork and sliced a little piece with it and ate it.

"Oh my!" I exclaimed. "No wonder Erza likes this!"

"Can I have some?" Levy-chan asked shyly and I pushed the plate towards her and allowed her to. She sliced a little piece and ate it. "This is delicious! I'll go ask Mira-san some."

I grabbed the plate towards me again and sliced a little piece and showed it to Happy.

"You want some?" I asked Happy.

"No thanks," Happy avoided the cake. "I prefer salmon cake."

While we were chatting and eating, Natsu went to our table.

"I heard Erza went on a job," Natsu exclaimed. Oh, so that's why she's not around, I thought.

"And...?" Lucy asked as she faced him.

"Wanna go on a job too?" Natsu asked. He faced me and said, "Want to join too, Crystal?"

"M-me?" I asked. "I don't really thi—"

"Come on! It'll be fun," Lucy smiled and held my hand.

"Besides, you have your own sword so you'll be safe and you'll be able to battle," Natsu explained.

"Aye sir!" Happy agreed.

I didn't think twice already. I immediately said yes and the four of us went out of the guild to start our new adventure.
