Alice's POV

"Alice..." I heard a voice whisper. I groaned in response, still half-asleep.
"Alice, I made some breakfast for you. It's your favorite: chocolate chip pancakes," The voice said again, and I soon realized it was Justin. I stuffed my face into the pillow, preparing myself for waking up. I heard Justin chuckle behind me.
I began to open my eyes and winced at the bright sunlight. Sitting up, I stretched out my arms and flexed my feet around while yawning in the process. I looked up to Justin smiling at me.
"Breakfast is downstairs," he said, "I'll meet you down there." He called as he headed out the room.
I yawned once more and put my hair into a messy bun and threw on one of Justin's t-shirts. I don't know why, but I just love wearing Justin's shirts. They're comfy and they look pretty good on me. I do it all the time. I mean, we've known each other since middle school and he's my best friend, it's not like he cares. I shuffled down the stairs and smiled at the smell of pancakes. Justin was bringing out syrup and butter to the table as I sat down. Justin looked at me with wide eyes, and I giggled.
"Morning," he smiled and I smiled back.
       "Morning," I mumbled sleepily.
I spread some butter and poured a bit of syrup over my pancakes and dug in. Chocolate pancakes were my absolute favorite, and Justin made them really well.
"Mmm..." I sighed as I chewed the first bite. Justin chuckled.
After a few minutes, we cleared the table and Justin insisted on doing the dishes so I headed to the living room and turned on the tv. I turned the channel to my favorite, SpongeBob SquarePants, and giggled at the dialog. Justin came and sat next to me a few minutes later.
       "Really? SpongeBob?" He laughed.
"Oh come on! It's my favorite," I pouted. He let out an over-exaggerated sigh and didn't say anything else. I giggled at his child-like ways as I turned up the volume.
After a few minutes of laughing over whatever was happening, I noticed Justin staring at me. I raised an eyebrow at him.
"Take a picture, it'll last longer," I winked, and laughed as he pouted at me.
"Where are your parents, anyway?" I asked.
"They're out in Washington with friends, they won't be back until Sunday," he answered. Today was Friday.
I picked up my phone and groaned when I saw it was almost noon. I'd have to be back home soon.
       "What's wrong?" Justin asked.
"I have to be home soon and I don't want to go..." I pouted once again.
"Could you tell your mom the soccer team wanted to go to the mall together today?"
I pondered over these words. It was a pretty good idea.
"Be right back," I said as I walked up to his room and put my mom on the phone. After a few minutes of convincing, she agreed. Luckily, she was in a pretty good mood today. She was going on a date tonight, so I could be alone tonight. I smiled as I hopped down the stairs.
"What do you wanna do today?" I asked happily.
"We could go to the beach, it's not a very long drive," he suggested. I nodded and sat down again to continue the episode before getting ready.
After the episode was over, I kept on Justin's basketball muscle tee and threw on some shorts I left here from last time I stayed here, along with white converse from last night. I put my hair into a side fishtail braid.
"Ready?" He asked. I nodded as I put on the last bit of sun screen and followed him out the door. This was going to be a really fun day.
