Alice's POV
Ever since Justin and I calmed down, we silently decided to go about our day normally.
We got up from the bed, ate breakfast, and packed our stuff. But no matter how normal we tried to make the day seem, you could easily tell that nothing was normal. I should of known having a good life was too good to be true. It's always something.
Justin and I eventually load up the car and slide into the seats. For the first hour, neither of us say a word. Finally, Justin speaks up,
"Alice, I think we should talk," he says quietly.
I stay silent, looking in his direction. He sighs.
"Please don't freak out, but I think your dad should know about this," he said, waiting anxiously for my response.
I wince. Although Justin thinks it's the best decision, it's the last thing I would want to do. I clear my throat.
"I've worried them enough.." I speak softly.
"Alice, the reason they worry is because they love you and want you to be okay."
I shook my head, tightly closing my eyes. I couldn't help but think that I must be a huge interruption in Riley and Dad's life, and I really didn't want to cause them any more stress. Justin glanced my direction expectantly.
"You don't understand.." I said quietly, swallowing.
"Then please, Alice, help me understand. I want to help you!" Justin said sternly, raising his voice slightly.
"I've caused them enough problems,"
"Alice, you are not an inconvenience to anyone." Justin spoke, his voice coming back down to normal volume.
I looked away, wanting desperately to end the conversation.
"I really don't want to tell anyone yet," I whispered, my voice shaking. "I want to figure this out first,"
"Okay, I won't tell anyone. I just want you to be free from all this chaotic stuff, you know? I'm sorry if I'm seeming angry at you, I just-I, I don't know.." Justin trailed off.
"I trust you," I spoke, looking into his eyes.
His eyes lit up slightly, easing the uncomfortable feeling all around me. Justin smiled. After a free minutes of silence, Justin spoke again.
"Okay, how about some tunes?" He said, turning on the radio. I smiled slightly and turned it up.
The rest of the way home was a lot easier.Later..
Finally, we reached Justin's house. I told my dad that we would stay there a night since his apartment was still across town, and frankly, we were exhausted. Emotionally and physically.
Justin's parents gave us a warm welcome before we headed to his room. I threw on a pair of sweats and a sweater from Justin's closet and collapsed on his bed. Justin watched me do these things with a large smile on his face.
"You're so gorgeous, Alice." He whispered into my hair after settling himself close to me on the bed.
I lifted my head up to face him. He looked straight into my eyes, his eyes bright and full of love. My heart leaped as a smile formed on my face.
"Remember your birthday.." Justin began, "when I made that fort and gave you that band tshirt?" I nodded, my smile growing.
"You have no idea how hard it was for me to spend that day without once telling you how much I was absolutely, madly in love with you." He whispered, laying on his back to face the ceiling.
I cuddled up to him, letting my eyes close."I love you," I whispered, beginning to fade.
"I love you," Justin spoke, grabbing my hand in his and kissing it.Then I was asleep.
