"What did you think?" I asked, staring at Daniel through the blue-tinted darkness between us. The rest of the plane was asleep, like I should have been, but my anticipation grew with each page he read. After two hours and four sodas, I was wired.

Daniel sat back in his chair, stretching his neck for the first time since we boarded. Then, he turned to me and said, "I loved it."

My heart raced. He loves it? Relief washed over me. I had left out personal details and changed our names, but I worried he would think it was too invasive. It turned out I was worried for nothing, I realized. "But there's one thing."

Hell. I knew it was too good to be true. "Yes?" I asked, scared I had celebrated too soon.

He rubbed his face, and even in the dark, I could tell his cheeks were flushed. "It's a bit dirtier than your other book."

I blinked. Was he that embarrassed over a few sex scenes? "Yeah?"

"Maybe you could publish it under a pen name? Not that you need to." He brushed his long, dark hair out of his eyes and laughed. Even he was susceptible to a little awkwardness sometimes.

My lips curled. We really were a great match. "What should it be, then?"

Daniel leaned in, kissing my cheek to spread the heat to my face instead of his. "That's up to you, darling."
