My eyes got blurry as tears clouded my vision. Why does everything have to happen to me?

Wait, if it was the rapist I'd be in the trunk...

I sucked up my fear and turned towards the driver. My eyes landed on a boy about my age with black hair and glasses. He was wearing a black hoodie and jeans with Converse from the looks of it.

Damn he was a fine specimen.

The boy had his eyes on the road and his tongue out like he was concentrating really hard. He swerved the wheel to the left and I saw the hint of a bicep through his hoodie.

Oooooooo

I mentally slapped myself.

Why am I checking out my kidnapper? What the hell is wrong with me?

"Who the hell are you?" I asked.

He looked up like he forgot I was there.

"Uh I'm Nicolas. Call me Nick" he smiled then turned back to the road.

Not exactly what I meant but okay

"So Nick why am I in your car?!" I asked, my voice raising.

"Oh um well everyone said you were gone and I ran out, stole a car and...hmmm" he stopped lost in thought.

"What the hell are you talking about?" I was getting annoyed now. This guy was making no sense.

He sighed "I'll start from the beginning"

(Nick POV)

I walked up to a creepy looking building. I looked down at the address in my hand and back up. This was it.

My parents died a week ago while witnessing a bank robbery. They stood outside and watched. Didn't call the police or for help, just stared. Of course after the robbery the robbers came out and shot them. And again they just stood there smiling pathetically. Dumb asses.

I found all this out today. Lucy our maid got the call and transferred the news to me.

I obviously wasn't devastated, I'd only met the people twelve times in my life when they used to visit me on my birthday. They must've forgot over the last three years to show up.

For as long as I can remember Lucy took care of me and it hurt a lot to leave her but she wasn't allowed to take care of me anymore. Before she left she gave me an address to a local orphanage she said she grew up at.

And now I'm here staring at a creepy ass house straight out a horror movie.

A chubby lady with rosy cheeks took me in and gave me a room. Apparently they don't need any information whatsoever, just take kids in out of the blue. Slightly strange but whatever.

While unpacking my clothes I heard the mumble of conversation outside my room. As the nosy person I am, I opened the door a crack to hear better.

"They haven't come back yet, its been hours. I'm getting worried."  A feminine voice said.

"The girl's messed up, maybe she crashed the car or something"  a deeper voice said.

Who are they talking about?

"No, I know Leyla she wouldn't harm a fly. I just hope they are safe. They did have to drive through the rough part of town..." the woman replied shakily.

I closed the door deciding to ignore them and walked over to my bed. I tried to fall asleep but my mind was going a mile a minute.

Who is this girl? Is she ok?

I shook my head trying to forget about it but it didn't work. I got up, opened the window and jumped out onto the road. And happened to land right next to a pair of lost car keys.

That was lucky.

*****

It took a while to find the car that the keys belonged to and I was practically jumping for joy when I did. I started the car nervously. Having never driven a car before I was quite scared.

I don't know how I did it but after five minutes of playing with different buttons and pedals I managed to dive down the road.

Man, its easier than Mario Kart. There's not even banana peels in the way.

I smiled hoping I was going the direction the girl was at.

(Leyla POV)

After hearing Nicks story I was still a bit confused.

"Ok so you found a random girl in the middle of the street wearing really skimpy clothing and you just figured it was me?" I asked.

"Nah you're still wearing your hospital wristband. It has your name on it."

I smiled. Maybe I was finally safe for a while.
