"Mom, how long till we get there?" I whined for the twentieth time since we left the house.
We were driving down to Disneyland for the first time and oh boy I was sooooo excited.

"Two more hours darling, then we get to go on all the rides."
Ugh two hours is way to long to stay in a boring old car.
"I wish we were there now" I said.
My dad woke up then. Hallelujah a break from the snoring. He'd been snoring since the moment we left the house four hours ago.
"We'll be there befo...." he started but did not finish because the car jerked to the side. We were hit.

I screamed, my dad held on for dear life and my mom was frantically trying to steer. No matter how much my mom tried to regain control of the vehicle it was no use. The car flipped. And flipped. And flipped.

We landed in a ditch on the side of the highway with a huge crash. Glass rained onto me from the broken windows causing cuts on my hands and face. I couldn't move, not even to move the glass away.

I don't know how long I was paralysed by fear, it could've been two minutes or two hours before I heard the moan of sirens. The car door next to me was pulled off its hinges and I was dragged out onto the grass. There was people everywhere; police, medics, and just people who stopped their cars to watch.

I moved my head slightly to watch as men pulled out the doors in the front of the car to remove my parents. They got placed on the grass away from me and I couldn't see what was happening. Lots of medics ran over but they weren't doing anything, just watching. What was going on?

I slowly managed to get up and walk over to them. I ached all over and blood dripped into my eye from a cut I couldn't feel. Each step was painstakingly slow and it felt like hours before I made it to the crowd of people surrounding my parents.

I tried to see over the people but they were too tall so I pushed past only to see the thing that scares me the most. My parents were there, lying on the grass covered in blood. My mom had her eyes open but to my horror I saw that they were cold and lifeless. Neither of their chests moved up and down.

"Mom" I whispered, tears streaming down my face. There was no reply.

They were dead.

I screamed as I woke up. I could feel the tears that had ran down my cheeks and heard a beeping noise coming from beside me. I opened my eyes to reveal heart monitors, a plain white room and wires coming out of my body. I was in a hospital.

"Oh god. I'm still here..."
