You know what? How about a double chapter day of reckoning
:)Nathaniel whistles and immediately after a woman with red-brown hair and a shotgun in her grasp comes forward from the crowd. "Diana", Nathaniel says, "Take our guests to the cells. They try anything stupid, shoot them."
Diana walks in front of us, stares at us, and says, "Will do, Nathaniel."
Eli walks off somewhere, still carrying his sword.Richard adjusts his vest angrily and stomps off, angry about...something. Nathaniel looks toward Richard, then back at me and says, "If you'll excuse me, I have to discuss some matters with my lieutenant."
He walks off and follows Richard down a street. The huge crowd of people disperses. Diana points the shotgun at us and commands, "Stand up. Now."
We do as she says and get to our feet. I wipe some dirt off my hoodie and jeans, then Diana says, "Head that way", pointing toward a building in the distance. She probably wants us in front of us so we don't surprise her.I'm in the front, of course. Cody is behind me, then Matt and Theo in the back. As we walk towards the building, Diana keeps her gun pointed at our backs. Some of Nathaniel's men point and glare at us as we walk past them. Cody leans forward and whispers into my ear, "David, what are we gonna do?"
"For now, we have to do what they say", I answer."Really? No ass kicking?", Cody asks jokingly.
I chuckle slightly, but it fades when we get to the front of the cell building. It looks like a tiny prison. There's no door, just a stone doorway. We walk inside and head down a barely lit hallway. We come around a corner and built into a long wall are five metal doors.
Diana walks around us and opens the second one to the right. She aims the shotgun at us and commands, "Get in the cell."
We walk inside the cell and Diana slams the door behind us and locks it. The door has a small rectangular opening so we can see Diana's face when she tells us, "Nathaniel will deal with you later. For now, make yourselves comfortable."
Then we hear her footsteps as she leaves the building. Matt leans against one of the walls of the cell and nervously says, "That's it. We're gonna die.""Don't say that, Matt", I tell him, "We've been through worse situations than this."
"How can anything be worse than this?!", Matt exclaims, anger in his voice."The herd? Our group starving? The bridge? Do you remember none of that?!", I angrily ask Matt.
Matt shuts his mouth, and looks down at the dirt floor. He knows I'm right. Yeah, things took a turn for the worse today, but we've come back from situations far worse than being held for ransom.
Is that why we're here? So Nathaniel can trade us for Lisbeth?
I guess we'll have to find out soon.
It's a little short. Deal with it XD
