My friends and I kneel in shock as the dark skinned man's body falls against the concrete.

Eli turns back toward us and says, "We have to move. Now."

I stand up and exclaim, "What the hell? You fucking killed him!"
"What? Don't tell me you haven't killed a man before!", Eli angrily whispers to my face.

"You didn't have to kill him! Now that's one more of Nathaniel's men whose dead!", I exclaim.

"Whatever. Let's go", Eli tells us, turning his back to us and crouch running across the street. Just as I'm about to follow him, Cody grabs my shoulder and whispers, "Like I said, David, we can't trust him."

"He's our way out of here, so we have to", I say before quietly following Eli past the man's corpse to the other end of the street.

There's no one around on the streets, a good sign so far. Behind me, Theo, Cody and Matt awkwardly walk over the dead body, the head in an unnatural position.

Only the moonlight shines our way through the darkness.

Eli, instead of choosing a street to walk through, goes to the very left to a dark alleyway.

Cody and I look at each other, confused, but then we decide follow him. Eli should have brought us flashlights, but they probably would have got us caught.

I feel my way through the darkness, a few feet away from Eli. This alley is long, and it's right next to the tall concrete wall that surrounds the base. "I can't see shit", Theo whispers.

Just as we barely see a fork in the alley up ahead, a gunshot rings out.

I turn around and see two men pointing guns at us. "Run!", Matt yells before we scatter.
The two men shout at us and fire their guns, causing small sparks of light to jump off the walls. I go to the right path in the alley, assuming my friends are behind me.

I hear shouting.

More gunfire.

Tall shelves and barrels are scattered throughout the alley.

I turn around while slowing down, and see that my friends are gone. Where the hell did they go?
I suddenly hear someone running down the way I came, so I duck into a large construction pipe.

Just in case, I pull out my switchblade and click the button, and the knife jumps out.

The footsteps stop, and a pair of legs appear  directly in front of the pipe.

I hold my breath.

A few moments later, the person starts running again. I wait a few seconds for it to be safe, then I quietly step out of the pipe.

A pair of hands then grabs me, covering my mouth.
