Chapter 7

"Macey, what did that mean?" I ask the girl. Out of all us girls, I figured she would know more about boys than anyone.

"Cammie, look. As interesting as your love life seems to be and as much as I would love to help you, I'm a bit busy catching up on work." She said, returning to the book she was studying. May it was just me, but it seemed as if she was burying her anxiousness about her parents in studying, but that was just a theory.

"Please, I'll help you! I've already passed all this stuff, I can help you if you help me."

Macey looked thoughtful, and after a moment agreed.

Ever since COW, my head has been spinning. Zach completely ignored me the rest of the day, yet he was just as cocky and arrogant to everyone else.

The only time he even appeared to have no cover was when he talked to Mr. Solomon. Zach had been very respectful and attentive to him.

"Well, Cammie. From what our told me; he was obviously flirting with you." Macey stated, as if it were another basic fact from the book she was studying.

"But why!? Why on Earth would someone like Zach, cocky and arrogant and irking, flirt with someone like me?" I practically yell. Thankfully we were in our room.

"You realized you only talked to the guy once right? Look Cam, you're the spy. Think about it, the wink at breakfast, the cocky attitude, the compliment. Ignoring you...it's his cover."

In a sense, what she said made sense, but I didn't know anything about boys.

"Still, why not some other girl? Like Bex...she is so pretty and headstrong, and Irish for crying out loud! Or Liz, smart, cute and shy. Rosie...she is so outspoken and crazy, in an adoring way." I was so confused. Maybe I was taking this the wrong way, but I didn't know anything about this.

"Cammie, I know you aren't going to listen to me. So just try this; get to know Zach."

"Zach is a spy." I really had no proof besides that his mom was a spy and that he was actually here. "He will lie to me."

"And you should be just as mysterious, but don't lie. Cammie, as I understand this, you are upset cause you don't know why Zach was acting flirty, and then ignored you right? Well, you don't know anything about him. Just go with it."

After Macey's little pep talk, I left my room, going to my favorite chair in a room beside the library.

Why did it bother me? Macey had a point, I knew nothing of Zach. I was freaking out of nothing. Except for the fact that I had embarrassed myself in front of him last night. Yes, that's why he irked me today.

"Lost in though?" A deep voice asked, and it took all my will power and training not to jump out out of my chair.

Zach stood at the door, leaning against it. His white shirt sleeves were rolled up and his top button undone, tie loosened.

I'm a spy-it's my job to be observant like that.

"Yes, actually. Just wondering what the best way to get my revenge is." I say mysteriously, and Zach smirks, moving to sit in the chair across from mine.

"Oh? And why do you need revenge?" He says, cocking his eyebrow.

"I was humiliated and made to look like a fool." I say, and Zach leans closer.

"And exactly who do you plan to get this revenge on?" He asks.

I keep quiet and we hold eye contact. His green ones stare what feels like deep into my soul, and I remind myself that he is a spy, he is reading me.
