Cooper had sent Natalie away for her own sake, but now that she was gone he could see that he needed some space too. He never realized how much her presence affected him until she was gone and he could breathe again.

'I need to call Bert.' He thought to himself, knowing it would probably be best to do it sooner rather than later. He made a mental note to make an appointment today, he would never be denied the mans time, but Cooper knew that Bert Finkler was one of the busiest therapists in the city.

Yes, it's true, the big bad Cooper Grant sees a therapist. It started when his mother died and he has kept an irregular schedule with the man ever since. He knew Bert was going to have a field day with this whole Natalie situation, but he also knew that talking to an impartial party was good for his decision making.

They had a weird patient/doctor relationship. He was the only person in the city that could get away with speaking to Cooper Grant disrespectfully. Cooper trusted the man to be professional and do his job whenever he was called upon. In turn for being at a murderers beck and call, Bert was paid very handsomely and was given protection throughout the entirety of the Devil's territory.

Cooper sent a text to the therapist with a time to meet early the next morning and set off down to his study to do some more work. Being a gang leader sounds adventurous and all hands on, but in reality there is a lot of paperwork and decision making involved in keeping everything running smoothly.

The Devils were about to branch out across the country and a big change like that needs a lot of careful planning, most of which Cooper was already falling behind on, thanks to his obsession with his newest victim.

He had just sat down behind the massive desk when his thoughts were interrupted by the small beep that his security monitor makes when it turns on. He looked to the screen on his left and watched as two of his men, Garrett and Neil, stood outside his office door arguing.

"For fucks sake." Cooper mumbled. Wishing for the second time today that his new motion activated security monitor had sound. "I'm too rich for this shit." He grumped aloud.

Out in the hallway the two men were in the middle of trying to persuade the other to take on the unfortunate task of delivering some bad news to their explosively unstable boss.

"I did it last time, it's your turn, it's only fair." Neil whined.

"That doesn't count and you know it!" Garrett whisper yelled in response. "He wasn't even mad"

"It's not my fault that he wasn't mad. The man is crazy, you can never tell what's going to set him off. Every conversation with him is Russian roulette and it's your turn to pull the trigger, Gary." Neil stated as if there was no reasonable argument against his words.

"Man. Don't do me like this. You know he's killed for less." Garrett was whisper-yelled back.

Neither man had a chance to argue further as they jumped back in surprise when the door in front of them flew open. They were met with an annoyed Cooper. 'It's better than a furious one' Neil thought to himself.

"What." Cooper demanded.

Both men looked back and forth between each other and their boss. No one wanted to speak first, whoever did would be made to be the bearer of bad news.

"I swear to God. One of you had better start talking before I start swinging." Cooper barked out at the two men.

For thirty long seconds no one spoke, Coopers non existent patience was already gone, he was quickly becoming over this whole interaction. "If you think for one second that I have time for this..."

"We uh.. we've been monitoring her phone, Natalies phone, her parents have been calling non-stop. And uh ... someone else has been trying to track and trace it." Garrett finally spoke up. "We haven't figured out who yet but we've stopped them from getting a location on it!" He quickly added when Cooper turned a deadly gaze on him.

"I want to know who it is. It has to be about that Toby fucker, I don't want to see either of you until you have answers for me." Cooper barked out before turning around and slamming the door shut behind him.

The collective sigh that was released in that hallway could have been heard by a deaf man. It was a turn of events that no one expected. Garrett had just dodged a bullet and poor Neil knew he would not be able to weasel out of delivering news the next time.

Cooper Grant was now in a tizzy. He figured people would notice that Natalie had gone missing, but he didn't think that she had friends that could trace a cell phone. He would need to arrange to have her parents brought out here soon, that would solve one problem at least.

"Fuck!" He yelled, slamming his hands on his desk. If it wasn't one problem then it was another. His work just kept piling up by the minute.

The next painful hour was spent pouring over paperwork and contracts. The Devils were about to head East, it would take a lot of negotiations and muscle, but Cooper knew if there was money and women then they would thrive.

An alarm went off signalling to Cooper that it was time to finish up and go to bed. Hours had passed since Garrett was at his door. Exhaustion was now weighing him down, he knew it was time to go to sleep.

He stopped halfway to the office door, normally going to bed meant forcing down some whisky and passing out, but today he was excited to go upstairs. Natalie was in bed waiting for him and he couldn't be happier, he would even describe himself as 'giddy'. He picked up his pace and all but ran to his room with a huge smile on his face.
