Chapter 22: Trial

~Emily Edwards~

"I find the defendants, Lindsey Elizabeth Mason, Sierra Nicole Mason, Emily Olivia Edwards, Oliver Lukas Hemmings, Owen Tyler Patterson, and Meghan Michelle Barns, guilty of kidnapping. Miss. Edwards, Miss. Barns, and Mr. Hemmings and Mr. Patterson and both Lindsey and Sierra Mason shall be sentenced with 10 years. Case closed. Court dismissed." The judge said hammering her gavel on the stand twice then standing up. The jury stood and flooded out of the court room. Our officers came and escorted us out of the house. Eventually we made it back to the prison and were giving cells that we would be living in for the next 10 years. I knew we were all staying here for our sentence. Our parents wouldn't even think about bailing us out. I saw them in the court room with my sister and they could hardly even look at me.

I sat down on my so called "bed". I shared a cell with Meghan. a few cells down were Lindsey and Sierra. Owen and Oliver were on the floor above us. I didn't even get to say goodbye to them. I guess I might be able to see them once we get out, since we get out at the same time. I can just say bye to Sierra and Lindsey sometime during our lunch period thing, if I even get to see them then.

"You know this is all your fault right?" Meghan said breaking the silence.

"How is this my fault?" I questioned

"You just had to go and kiss my boyfriend. If you wouldn't of done that we wouldn't be in this situation." She replied

"For the record I didn't kiss Oliver. He kissed me. Also you didn't even have to come with Oliver. You could of states at your home while Oliver came and did this. But no. You just had to come along didn't you. You were afraid that if Oliver saw me then he'd want to get back together with me. Next time you try and blame someone for something, make sure it's actually their fault." I finished. I laid back in my bed. Great I can't wait for 10 years of sharing a cell with her. Just when I thought my life couldn't get any better. Cue the sarcasm.

I have spent a day in this prison and I can all ready not stand the constant complaining of Meghan. Maybe I should punch her in the face. Right before I stood up to slap her, a security guard came over to our cell door and started to unlock it. I sat up from laying on my hard bed very confused.

"Are you Emily Edwards?" He asked me."

"Yes sir."

"Come with me. You have a visitor." He told me motioning me to stand up and walk towards him. I did as I was asked. He cuffed my hands and locked the cell door again. He lead me through many doors leading to the room we were going to. I sat down at the forth counter. On the other side of the glass was someone I never expected to see. Louis William Tomlinson. I immediantly picked up the phone that gave us the connection to speak to each other.

"Louis?"

"Hi Em."

"What are you doing here?" I questioned him. I was so happy to see him, but I didn't want to potray that. I needed to move on because in 10 years he won't love me anymore, if he even does now.

"I needed to talk to you."

"About what Louis? You shouldn't be here. It's over Lou. We broke up, and you need to move on." I told him, resulting in killing me inside.

"I know you don't mean that Em. I can see it in your eyes. I need yo to forgive me. I need you to forgive me, I don't even know if you're mad at me, but I should of kept my promise and protected you. You shouldn't be in here. None of you shoiuld. I said I was going to protect you and I didn't keep my promise. I'm sorry Em."

"Louis don't appologise. I deserved it. We all deserved it. You don't need to be sorry. Louis you really need to go. Move on. Have a good life with Eleanor."
