Chapter 4

"Mom I'm home!"

"Hey honey" my mom says from in the kitchen. "How was your day?"

I walk in the kitchen seeing my in apron chopping some vegetables.

"It was.....interesting." I take a seat on the kitchen counter. "We got a new boss today."

"Leila Elizabeth Hunter you know better than to the kitchen counter."

"Sorry mom. But did you hear me I said we got a boss today." I jump off of the counter and take a seat on the stool.

"What?"

"Yeah Mrs. Higgins decided it would be best if she quit since she's having a baby."

"Make since. So who's going to be the new boss?"

"This guy name Mr. Johnson. I feel like I know him from somewhere."

"Maybe you have. This is a small town."

"Yeah I probably have seen him in the grocery store. So what are you making for dinner?"

"Chicken Curry and I'm making some stir fry to go along with it."

I take a big whiff of my mom cooking. "Mmm my favorite."

"I know I had you remember."

"How could I you never let me forget."

She laughs and go back to continue cooking. My mom is like a sister to me. I can talk to her about anything. I grew up the only child. So my mom and I just became close.

"I'm going to take a quick shower"

"Okay dinner should be done by the time you get out."

"Okay" I grab my purse and walk up stair to my room.

After I take my shower I dry off and lotion up. i change in black tank top and grey sweats. I begin to put my hair in a bun when my phone rings. When I look at the caller ID I see its Sarah.

"Hello."

"What was that?!"

"What?"

"Don't you what me. You know exactly what I'm talking about.

"No I don't really."

I wouldn't have asked if I know.

"When you hugged my future baby daddy."

"Your future baby daddy?"

What is this girl on?

"Mr. Johnson!"

"Oh. I don't know where that came from. To be honest it kind of shocked me."

"Yeah, me too. I'm just making sure we both understand that Mr. Johnson is mine."

I began to laugh, "Oh trust me I understand."

"Leila!" I hear my mother yells from down stair.

"Hold on Sarah." I put my hand over the speaker. "Yes mom?"

"Dinner's ready!"

"Okay I'll be down in a sec."

After I say goodnight to Sarah, I head down stairs to have dinner with mom. My dad works night night shift so he doesn't have dinner with us a lot as we would like. I we finish dinner I help my mom clean up. I give her and goodnight and head off to bed.

Tomorrow is my first day with my new boss.
