"Mom!?" I say as I open the door to my house.

"In the kitchen." I hear my giggling along with someone else's voice.

"Hi mom." I take a set on the stool and lay my hands on the kitchen counter. "Where you laughing at something?"

"Your dad." My dad comes out of the back with a bag of vegetables in his hands.

"Hey pickle." My dad greets me with a hug.

"Hi dad what are doing home?"

"Well I had a meeting with my boss yesterday about changing my night shifts to day shifts and it worked. I am now home for family dinner."

"That's great dad." I am extremely proud of my dad.

"Yes I am too, and to celebrate we are having my favorite home cook meal. Beef stew."

Beef stew was one of my father's favorite's meal. It's actually what caught my dad heart. My mom cooked him beef stew on their third date and he was hooked.

"So how was your day at work pickle?" my dad asks while chopping the vegetables.

"Well remember I told you that my boss looked familiar?" they both nodded their heads still preparing the food.

"Well I finally figured out who he is."

"Who?"

I close my eyes and take a big gulp. "My high school crush."

The whole entire kitchen was silent. I open my eyes to see my mom and dad with their wide open and stopped what they were doing.

"Your high school crush?" my mom asks after being frozen.

"Yeah do you remember the boy I use to tutor on Saturday?"

"Yeah I remember you mentioning him, but I never saw him." My mom always knew I tutored someone but she never asked who. My mom always trust and believe I was going to nothing else but study. "this is crazy."

"Yeah I know."

"Does he remember you?" my dad takes a seat next to me.

"I don't think so. He did not act like he knew me. Not the bad thing is we have dinner with him on Saturday."

"Why is that a bad thing? You two can catch up on something's from the past." my mom asks.

"Mom! Me and Matthew didn't really talk as much." Only time we talk was over a math problem which I mostly did most of the talking while he was on his phone.

"Does he look the same?"

"Yeah he hasn't aged a bit." He looks incredible and his body is amazing.

"Your blushing pickle." My dad says while stirring the pot.

"No I'm not it just hot in her." I start to fan myself. "I'm going to take a shower."

"A cold one?" my mom says while my dad laughs. I hop of the stool and run upstairs.

I cannot believe my mom just said that.
