The morning light filtered through the trees, warm and soft, as mist rose over the Red Pack's valley. The air smelled of pine and earth after a light rain the night before. The world felt fresh, like it was waiting for something new to begin. Amber stood barefoot in the grass, eyes closed, feeling the rhythm of the forest. Her wolf, Star, stirred in her mind calm, proud, and ready. She could feel the faint heartbeat of every living thing nearby. It wasn't overwhelming this time; it was peaceful. Nathan's voice broke through the quiet. "You look like you're listening to the stars again." Amber smiled without opening her eyes. "Maybe I am." When she turned, he was standing there tall, steady, his dark hair still damp from washing, his black wolf Shadow gleaming beneath his skin. He looked at her the same way he had since their wedding with love, respect, and awe. Rose appeared a few feet away, her long white hair flowing in the wind. "Good morning, my daughter," she said. "And good morning to you too, Nathan." "Good morning, Luna," Nathan replied respectfully. Rose's soft smile deepened. "Today's lesson will be different. Amber, you've learned to heal wounds and feel emotions. But today, you will learn how to balance your power to call it, and to quiet it." Amber nodded, her heart thudding. "I'm ready, Mother." Rose gestured toward the center of the clearing, where small stones had been placed in a circle. "Stand in the center," she instructed. "This circle will help you focus. Your goal is simple listen to the flow of energy around you and bring peace to it.'' Amber stepped into the circle, feeling the stones cool energy hum beneath her feet. She closed her eyes again and let her breathing slow. The air shimmered faintly as her power began to awaken. At first, she felt everything at once the wind through the trees, the birds fluttering wings, the faint pulse of life in the soil. It was too much, too loud. Her hands trembled. "Focus on your heartbeat," Rose's voice said softly. "Let the world fade until it matches your rhythm." Amber listened one heartbeat then two until the world began to quiet. Slowly, the sounds blended together into one steady, living breath. The tension eased, and warmth spread through her chest. "I can feel it," she whispered. Rose smiled. "Good. Now open your eyes.'' Amber dis and gasped. The great around her shimmered faintly with light, each blade glowing softly. Even then the air sparkled, filled with tiny threads of golden energy. Nathan's eyes widened. "Whoa you did that?" Amber nodded slowly, amazed. "I didn't mean to." Rose stepped closer, eyes shining. "You didn't force it. That's why it worked. Power guided by peace is stronger than any spell." The faint light began to fade as Amber calmed her energy. The forest felt quiet again, but different more connected. A cheer rose from nearby. Benjamin, Molly, and Elijah had been watching. "That was incredible, Amber!" Molly said, running forward, her curls bouncing. "You made the forest light up! I've never seen anything like that." Elijah chuckled.  "I think the trees were clapping for her." Benjamin grinned. "Guess that's one way to start the morning training.'' Amber blushed, laughing softly."I didn't mean to show off." Rose smiled warmly. "It's not showing off when it comes from the heart." Later that afternoon, Rose led them to the riverbank again. The current was calm, sunlight glinting off the surface. Nathan stood close beside Amber, their fingers brushing. "This time," Rose said, "you'll learn to share your energy.Nathan, you will help her." Nathan frowned slightly. "Share it? How?" Rose lifted her hand, showing a faint glow of white light. "You two are mates. Your bond allows your energy to connect. You'll learn to draw strength from one another, especially when one is weak. It takes trust." Amber and Nathan exchanged a glance. Then, slowly, they held hands. Rose's voice softened. "Now breathe together. Feel each other's wolves." Amber reached out through their bond at first just feeling his warmth, his heartbeat, the deep rumble of Shadow's spirit. Then something shifted. Her power flowed like a gentle stream, brushing against his. Nathan gasped softly. "I can feel it your energy it's everywhere.'' Amber smiled faintly. "And I can feel yours. "It's like fire and calm at once." Rose watched them carefully. "Good. Don't fight it. "Let your powers balance." The light around them glowed brighter gold and silver weaving together until it formed a faint aura. The river stilled, its reflection showing the two of them surrounded by warmth and unity. When the light faded, they both breathed out, smiling at each other in quiet wonder. Rose's eyes were shining. "That is the bond of true mates stronger than any spell, older than any pack law." John appeared then, carrying a few scrolls and a small smile. "So, this is where everyone went." Rose turned to him with a playful glance. "Just a little lesson." John looked at his daughter proudly. "You've come a long way, Amber. When you were little, you used to set flowers on fire by accident." Amber laughed. "I remember that! Mom was so calm about it." Rose chuckled. "Only because I was worried you'd cry if I scolded you.'' Nathan grinned. "Guess she's always been powerful." Amber playfully nudged him. "And you've always been charming." Everyone laughed, the sound echoing through the forest. Even the river seemed to hum with happiness. Later, as the day faded into a golden sunset, Amber and Nathan sat together by the water. The forest glowed orange and gold, and their reflection shimmered beside each other. "Do you ever think about the future?" Nathan asked quietly. Amber nodded. "All the time. But for once I'm not afraid of it.'' He squeezed her hand gently. "That's because you're ready for it." From behind, Rose and John watched them quiet, thoughtful, proud. "She's stronger than we ever imagined," John murmured. Rose nodded. "Her power is growing faster now. The bond between her and Nathan has awakened something ancient. Something even the Moon Goddess herself might watch over.'' John placed his arm around his mate. "Then we'll guide them until the time comes." As the last rays of sun vanished behind the trees, a soft glow surrounded Amber for just a moment like the forest itself was whispering her name. She didn't see it, but Rose did. And deep in her heart, Rose knew this was only the beginning of a far greater awakening.
