Chapter 5
The next forty eight hours seemed to past like a whirlwind. Mya could barely believe that she had managed to get herself invited to a prostitutes' retreat. It had cost her the job at Westington's Library but it would be worth it if she could finally settle the score with Lucas Fierra.
The plane trip to St. Vincent was uneventful and the bus ride that followed seemed to be following the same path. No one spoke except for Lucas who introduced everyone to a reporter he identified as Lian Myles. She was important and Lucas was excited about having her on board, Mya couldn't suppress the ugly jealousy that reared its head.
Still, the matter could work in her favor. Revenge would be sweeter if Lucas' fall could be broadcasted all across the world.
Mya inhaled a deep breath and exhaled it slowly. How could she hope to pull off something like this? She wasn't going to fool herself, her experience in life had pretty much come to a standstill after her run in with Lucas Fierra all those years ago, she had no doubt in her mind that he would have racked up much more experience. In all likelihood her attempting to pay him back would be like the lamb setting an ambush for the lion. Mya exhaled again, but she had to do it or she would never be able to live with herself.
The bus was starting to move off now and everyone hurried to be seated, Mya slid around in the two sitter chair and made space as Lucas passed but he looked as if he hadn't noticed and went directly to the back of the bus and sat next to the attractive reporter. Mya inhaled a quick breath, glanced around the bus hurriedly to see who had noticed and exhaled slowly and glanced down at the jeans pants she was wearing and the simple modest shirt, perhaps she had not dressed attractive enough to attract his attention, after all, there was a lot of competition on this trip, who could say who Lucas Fierra would chose to flirt with? Perhaps Lucas had his fill of her seven years ago and had no more interest in going back to his old conquest. Mya bit even harder on her lip and felt the slightest spurt of blood. He had found her attractive once, surely she could make him find her attractive again. Mya locked her hands together firmly, she could do this and nothing was going to stop her, an errant strand of hair slipped in front of her face and she brushed it away hurriedly. All she needed to do was get Lucas Fierra in a compromising position and then expose him to the world for the womanizing cad that he was. Surely that couldn't be that difficult?
Mya spared a quick glance behind her and noted that Lucas was deep in conversation with Lian Myles, she could feel her stomach churn. He was already hitting on someone and the trip had just begun! Still, it would not be nearly as big a scandal as if Lucas Fierra was caught with one of the women he was supposed to be helping. If only Lisa had joined her; she would have at least have a friend to share her fears and concerns with.
"The camp site we will be staying at has wooden cabins and although it won't be the luxury you girls are accustomed to..." There was a giggle at that. "I expect you should be quite comfortable. You can feel free to call me Sonia, I'm here for any one that feels they need someone to talk to."
"What if we go through these two weeks and don't change?" Riley, the oldest of the girls asked.
"That's the beauty of change; you get to choose if it happens or if it doesn't," Sonia said kindly and Riley nodded her head slowly and then stared out of the window again intently.
"So is the food free on this trip too? Cause I'm hungry!" A loud, tall, strong looking white skinned, brown haired girl with a scar on her face and dark green eyes yelled. She looked no more than nineteen years old but the sight of her sent a chill through Mya's body.
"The food's free. We serve five meals a day. Breakfast, lunch, dinner and two snacks," Sonia responded.
"Whooo...hoooo! I hit the mudda load! Free meals! It's better than jail!"
