A sigh of disappointment left his lips as he aimlessly stood outside the high school looking for his brown haired girl. He ran his fingers through his flattened golden hair as he caught her familiar scent. His broad shoulders tensed and his heart started to race at the sight of her walking towards him.
"Luke," the girl mumbled at the sight of his broad body clothed in all black. "Were you waiting for me?"
"No..." Luke lied, trying to play it off with a smile. "I didn't want to go inside yet."
The two quietly stood in silence admiring each other resulting in the passing students seeming to give them long stares.
"Well I was thinking about tonight and-"
"Y/N!" A boy interrupted her, striding over to them.
"Michael, what the hell happened to your hair?" Luke questioned, furrowing his eyebrows as he examined the unusual colored strands of hair or whatever new shade it was.
"I added a feather!" He beamed proudly. "Anyways, so how are my little love birds... I mean mates doing?"
Y/N's cheeks turned into a shade of red as the the blonde gave him a menacing look. Biting down on his lip ring, Luke wrapped his muscular arm around her waist. Y/N yelped in surprise at the action that just made Luke smirk even more.
"We're doing fine! see you around, Michael." Luke nodded his head in acknowledgement, walking passed him and into the school.
"What the hell, Luke?" Y/N exasperated as his grip on her hand didn't falter. They were getting glared at by the most of the girls that passed by them, igniting new rumors to spread from classroom to classroom. All eyes were examining the new silver antler shaped necklace around her neck, which used to be worn by Luke.
"Y/N, it's nothing to worry about baby."
She kept quiet as her ears started to turn red at all of the new found attention. They sat down at their assigned seats- which happened to be next together.
"About tonight, " Y/N continued her conversation from when they were outside the school. "Do I really have to go?"
Luke gave her a small smile before putting his calculator on his desk. He had invited Y/N to have dinner at his house and meet his parents. Luke's mum had been pestering him because she hadn't met his mate yet and apparently she "couldn't wait for another day."
"Come on, it won't be that bad. I'll be there, right?" he coaxed. "Besides, my mum is a really good cook."

"Get out now, Y/N." Luke laughed, cutting off the engine to his black Camaro. He parked his car in front of his home, which was hidden behind trees and various shrubs.
"I can't..." She tried finding an excuse. "I just remembered that I have a calculus test tomorrow!" Y/N yelled, her eyes looking out the window and at the mansion sized home. Flashbacks of her first visit there ran through her head.
"Our test isn't until next week. Now let's go, mum and dad are waiting." Luke motioned for her to see his parents standing on the porch. They had bright smiles on their faces with their hands intertwined.
With a nod and a small smile, she got out of the car and started to blush when Luke wrapped his strong arm around her waist and pulled her closer to his side. He gazed down at her with a loving look and stuck his tongue out at her as to show her that everything was going to be alright. As they reached his parents, he released his grasp on her and crossed his arms as he watched her greet his mum.
"You're so beautiful Y/N! I've been waiting so long to meet you!" Luke's mum cooed, engulfing her in a warm hug.
"It's nice to meet you, Mrs. Hemmings." Y/N smiled, her fingers absentmindedly toying with the pendant around her neck.
